So for me the forums have been abit up & down today..
just thought i would share that the backup addresses have been working when the main forum address is down.

I've been on almost all day, Fridays are busy though and if your internet connection is a little slower then the forums can give a lot of time outs.

Just thought i would share that the backup addresses are working if you were getting frustrated with timeouts etc..
strange though, i haven't seen these addresses in use before, I was under the impression they were just a contingency plan and not to be used concurrently? may be wrong though

intersting indeed...how many have ya tried? i tried 9 of them..some slower than others it seems...
dkn255hz262ypmii is almost non existent for me atm..

tried about ten yeah,
the ones towards the top of the list seem to work better than those lower down but thats probably just coincidence
certainly not all of them are working, but it is odd isn't it?
This is a quote from DPR in the backup plans thread : "Listed below are backup .onion URLs that we will try to host the forum at if it is unreachable from the usual url "
to me that would suggest they were to be used if something were awry :s

You know it just happened to me too now. I was on the forums here but then it started to time out on every page. Checked for www infront of the address like it sometimes does but that wasn't the problem.
The pages timed out so quick that it seemed more like my internet or a tor issue. So I stopped tor then started it again and the forums came right up. What is going on...

It is probably just a temporary blip, at least nothing to worry about yet.

I don't have any more info on it so that's all I can give you guys at the moment. As most of you have noticed, the backup URLs are indeed working so everything is going according to DPR's backup plans. Nothing to worry about in any event.
If you're trying to get to the Wiki etc., simply replace the "http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion" part with one of the working backup URLs and you'll get there just fine.

There probably wouldn't be any reason to DoS the forums specifically BECAUSE of the backup URLs - the entity conducting a DoS attack would have to target each URL at the same time and split the power at their disposal amongst all of the URLs, thus rendering such an attack useless.
Not 100% sure what's going on, but I do know that there's no cause for concern. :)

Thank you so much for this post. Totally missed the original post by DPR.
This came in handy just a couple hours after saving the back up list of links. i.e. Needed to send another member an important message, main forum stopped working after typing up the message so I got on with one of the back up links and was able to send it. On top of that it's fast too!

This is so awesome! I tried the forum a few hours ago and it wasnt working and I thought huh thats strange, cause everthings been solid lately so I thought somthins up,, then just tried now and still not working and I thought Shit, Im rockin a good buzz and feel like chillen in the forums makin some discussion. Im thinkin Fuckin hackers again. And thought now what, I wonder if I can find some info to find out for sure if its down, hmmm where to check. I was kinda at a lost and the only Idea I had was maybee someone mentioned it on BMR forums. (I have heard ppl talk about some Redit thing but I actually have no idea what that is)
Then it Hit me Oh ya!!!! DPR made a bunch of back up links!!!!!! , Tried the first one and BAM!!!! gotta say Very Impressed and pumped that this plan is working like a top, but I am a lil concerned that some shit heads might be up to something,
Im sure Those in charge are on top of it.
Any updates on the situation??
