Title: Account Hijacked
Post by: e55drop on May 18, 2013, 05:10 pm
My SR account has been hijacked, I have very little in available btc, but I had some orders processing and in transit. What I would like to know is if the hijacker can cancel my orders without my pin? I have already contacted support and msg the vendors I have ordered from.

Hi e55drop,

It is VERY unlikely that your Silk Road account has been 'hijacked'; you have most likely been the victim of phishing. The people in control of your account have cancelled your orders in order for the Bitcoin held in escrow to be returned so as they can then withdraw it.

Please see the Silk Road Wiki page on this here:

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Trust_and_phishing

The ONLY site you should be logging in to is silkroadvb5piz3r.onion
There are NO other Silk Road login sites. Silk Road will NEVER ask you for PIN, except when you are making an order on the 'Shopping Cart' page.

If you feel that you have not been phished, please thoroughly check your system for keyloggers, dataloggers and rootkits.

Yes, they attained my login details by use of a phishing url that was similar to SR true url. I know it was my mistake for not checking the url, but i was simple saying hijacked as in it is not me using my account. Thanks again for the reply

Ah okay, I just had to make sure that I clarified what had happened. You should memorise or bookmark the URL to prevent this from occurring again in future.

Again, Silk Road will never ask you for your PIN at login. Best of luck with the reset in any event!

Thread locked as resolved.
