Heya
I'm considering a web wallet to hold a very small amount of bitcoin (.5 or so) before I transfer to SR.
Web wallets seem a lot less complicated than software wallets, which is why I'm considering them.
Remember, I'm only buying a small amount, and I wont be storing the coin for long.

There is no such thing as a 'safe' web based wallet. The only entity you should be trusting with your Bitcoin is you. Further to that, if you're looking for a web based wallet to send to in order to break the link between your wallet and your SR wallet, you won't be able to do that without 'tumbling' the coins. All transactions are recorded in the blockchain so you could send them to 100 different wallets before sending them to SR and it would be no different than sending them to just one different wallet.

In addition to what Libertas said on tumbling/mixing your bitcoins, probably the most respected bitcoin mixer (I prefer the word mixer to tumbler as it more accurately describes the process) is BitcoinFog. Basically you create an account and can generate up to 5 receiving wallets, and then you can withdraw the coins for a 1-3% fee (randomly varies between those percentages) to up to 10 different addresses. I use it all the time. The link is below:

Thanks for the replies. Libertas, excuse my multiple postings of identical questions. This forum is full of spam posts that tend to bury my inquiries before they receive any responses.
I've check out the Fog. Is it best that I deposit my money directly into the Fog via Bitinstant, or should I first deposit them into a normal ewallet, and then into the Fog?

It wouldn't actually matter as BitcoinFog will separate A from B anyway.

Anecdotal, I've used them with a few Bitcoins here and there without problem when I'm feeling lazy.
