Title: Does this board really actually accomplish anything ??
Post by: opiatebliss1979 on May 13, 2013, 01:49 am
Whoever came up with this idea of the 50 posts rule did not think things out. I am a long time buyer who has a problem with a vendor I need to voice so others dont fall into the trap and now I have to spam 50 messages. I would love to know who the brainiac who came up with this idea... I mean really...

I think they made the newbie forum to control the flow of new accounts into the main forums.  Anyway if you have a vendor complaint I've read that you can just put it directly in the newbie forum under it's own thread and it is just as effective.  I've personally read many helpful reviews of vendors that came from the newbie forum using the search feature.  Hope this helps a little.

Maybe there needs to be a way to recognize concerns of the new customers (as they're the life-blood) of the road without subverting their legitimacy with a meek title. Any Mods care to weigh in?

Well I just had a wonderful discussion with myself. But yeah I feel retarded now. I guess it's for the bitcoin spams, so they keep the other boards clear

Yea I understand this, but personally I do not post on here and now I have to wait an hour to do this bs messages just so I can warn others about a vendor who is putting dangerous product out there.

From the look and layout settings you can remove the warning when someone posts so you can be uninterrupted on your spam posts

Did you leave a piss poor rating? I forgot to mention, it's devastating to receive a negative review and rating for a vendor; they wont get any orders.

I understand your frustration, but it was done specifically to help stop the flood of scam bitcoin vendor spam posts that were clogging up boards, as well as our own PM accounts. - Granted it's annoying, but you're more than halfway there.

If you need something to get out there, you can always ask a member with enough posts, if you're sick and tired of waiting for the page to reload. ( I know, because I have made a few other accounts on here, just to keep LE from following my posts. Best not to let them develop a 'profile' on you, if you know what I mean.

That being said. Feel free to PM me, and I'll gladly relay your message to whatever board you want, letting them know your forum name of course.

I was like you. A 'non-forum' type of guy. Then the Silk Road went down. - And I don't mean the past few weeks, that was NOTHING!
I'm talking the 1st few WEEKS of November. - Some didn't see a Silk Road login screen for over a week! - Very few in fact saw one any earlier than that.

So the only place to turn for information was these forums, and I made quite a few good acquaintances, and friends. As well as found great connections to the things I was seeking, that I otherwise wouldn't have know about.

Everything happens for a reason.

I hope you become more comfortable on here, as I did.

Obviously you care enough to have come on to report the bad vendor. - That's what this is all about!

You don't have to be "Mr Social Butterfly-Forum Man" - But give these pages a shot. You won't be sorry, trust me. - I never liked forums of any kind,

I'd given up on Facebook and all that other social media crap. - This is the one place I go to now for information, and to "give back" to this community, in the form of "warnings" like you're doing, and Reviews of Vendors.

Feedback on a profile can be faked, made up etc. - They can't do that so easily on forums. - It's the one single thing that keeps the Vendors honest!

Peace

It deprives people of good coke :(!

I sent some samples early last year on the Road and then took a hiatus because I didn't know of a good way to convert bitcoins to Cash. Now I do, so I decided to reopen my account but I'm stuck in Newbie Jail ;).

Most forums I have been on have had a minimum post rule..

Some wont even let you create a thread anywhere.

I understand the frustration everyone is feeling, but with the traffic this website has it's a major target to spammers.
You can still post shit and get a reply but it's more..."unorganised" in this board.

Would be cool if the time of registrations would count. I've been here on forums just reading for 18 months now but I cannot post elsewhere than newbies section after the 50 rule came out.
But anyhow I don't complain, 50 posts is just a little bit much for me to do in one subforum if I'm the type who posts once in a month or so.

Funny thing too is that I have 24 posts now but only 2 in newbie section. Yeah whatever, I feel a little bad for just spamming so instead I'll write posts here like this one.

The Newbie forum was introduced in order to stop the "bitswing" spam from being able to be posted on every forum. If that happened, discussion would be completely impossible. Forcing the spammers to reach 50 posts before leaking their spam onto the main forums gives us a chance to eradicate it before that happens. As we are all using Tor, there is no way to filter this in any other manner.
When you reach the main forums you will appreciate it more.

Time of registration cannot count as the spammers could simply register X amount of accounts everyday, wait the necessary period of time and then post their spam everywhere, completely negating the point of having the Newbie forum.
