Title: Got kicked off SR on 7th May, Now can't log in!
Post by: kimjongill on May 11, 2013, 02:23 pm
 >:(

This is really frustrating. I got kicked off SR while sorting out a postage option for a new purchase then got kicked out/had to log back in.

I've tried a million fucking times now, in a row, and it just doesn't work.

I setup another account and PM SR Support, but no reply. They have not logged in over a month.

It's not the verification code because I've not had a problem logging in with my new account - just the old one (and it still doesn't work).

Anyone know what's up or where support's at?

Hi kimjongill,

I'm not entirely sure what's happening there, but please make sure that you are using the latest update for the Tor Browser Bundle and are accessing the correct URL: silkroadvb5piz3r.onion

SR Support's login date is not reflective of when they are actually online; it can take up to 48 hours to receive a response from SR Support, but it may take longer at the moment as there is quite a large backlog of messages to go through.

SR Support are the only ones who can sort this out in any event, if it isn't just an issue with your Tor Browser Bundle.

Hello.

I can confirm I have encountered the same problem within the same time period (in the last 3 days)

I have recently created my account and placed my first order. I was logging in to check its shipping status.

First attempts to login I got through after literally 30+ minutes of careful typing to ensure information was entered correctly every time

The next day I could not login at all. This issue has persisted for 2+ days now.  I know for certain every time the information entered was correct. Even changing my indentity on every subsequent attempt did not change anything

I had entered the Silkroad Onion by hand and bookmarked it so for every connection I would not run the risk of phishing

I was using the newest version of TOR but just in case I re-downloaded it and attempted again without luck

I tried another computer (albeit on the same internet connection), without luck.

I created an alternate account with a name very similar name to the account I could not login to, and sent a message (with the correct link, matches the supplied link) asking for a reset of my password. Should I have included my PIN or brief summary of my orders to better verify my identity?

Thanks for your help mods.

There is a current 48 hour backlog for support requests, so you may not hear back until some point after that.  :(

Hi Scout,

Thanks for the prompt response. Have done all you said and have definitely posted to the correct support (I visited the link you said and could see my original message from a few days ago there)

I have the latest TOR, and also tried logging in on different PCs etc. Nothing works for that account. It's like my password changed. My new account (same username as this one on the forum) works perfect every time.

It's annoying because I really really want to order from Le Fuente and he needs 5 previous orders to ship you weed. I was placing the order with him having finally reached 5 purchases when this happened.

I supposed I have no choice but to wait. Will keep everyone updated.

Heyheyhey - please post if you get a resolution. Looks like we're in the same boat.

His absolute magnificence,
Kim Jong

Checking in to see if either of you have gotten back into your accounts.  Let us know! :)

This happened to my first account and then it was like my password had changed (always used the URL provided here).

Now it happened again on my new account but I could log back in after 4 tries.

It's really annoying and makes me very uneasy to transfer money to an account I may just lose!

Hi all,

I got a response from SR Support and they've asked for some information to verify and link the blocked account to the new one I set up. I've sent this info so hopefully will be getting some good news soon.

I agree with ojojoj's comment - I am relatively new with fewer than 10 transactions and it makes me very uneasy transferring BTC into an account that may suddenly become inaccessible. I take great care with the URL (I've committed it to memory - "vee-bee-5, pizer" with a 3 instead of e) so it's not on the user end.

That said, I have placed another order of green  8) and waiting for more BTC to clear so that I can try out Tyl3r Durden's 25i-NBOME  :o (thanks to the SilkRoad I've had the opportunity for the first time to try DMT from DMT Nexus which was one of the best experiences of my life, and I'm hoping to try more of these magic compounds as time goes on).

I hope the SilkRoad is around for a long time (and whoever's fucking with it gets ass raped). Hopefully as time goes on these kinks will be sorted and it gets more robust.

Will drop by again once I can access my account

Hi kimjongill,

Glad to hear you finally got a response from SR Support - how long did that take in total, out of interest?

Maybe it's an encoding problem? But it seems very random the times I get kicked off and cannot log back in with my correct username/password. Eventually it seems to work though.

Maybe some weird problem with the encryption/salt?

Anyways, managed to place my first order now and will see how it goes - hopefully I can log in when I need to finalize :-/

Finally got my password reset/account back (it took 3 days in total which isn't too bad).

HOWEVER there's an even bigger fucking problem. All of my BTC is missing.

I checked my transaction history - I can see all the deposits listed (with details of the wallet it was coming from) and all the purchases (with details of the vendors I spent money on). The last transaction on the 12th (when I first contacted SR Support) shows the following:

withdrawal    {this is where you expect the details of wallet or vendor}        ฿-0.23    ฿0.00    May 12, 2013, 11:12 am UTC

I hope this is a security protocol on SR's side, otherwise it looks well sketchy.

I have PMed Support again to see what's going on.

Hi kimjongill,

Unfortunately this means that your account has been compromised - the most common cause of this is users entering their details into phishing sites; the ONLY site you should ever be entering your details into is:

silkroadvb5piz3r.onion

Please also remember that Silk Road will NEVER ask you for your PIN.

Other possible causes are having keyloggers / data loggers installed on your machine, or possibly accessing Silk Road through the onion.to proxy (as all keystrokes going through the proxy can be logged).

Please have your system thoroughly checked for security threats (keyloggers, rootkits etc.) and ensure that you are using a strong, complex passphrase and PIN. I would also avoid transferring Bitcoin to any Silk Road accounts you may have until you have ensured that your security is 100%.
