So I am about ready to make my first purchases next week (relatively small amount <$200):
My question is regarding BitInstant:
I live in a relatively small area, where the same people frequent. Giving fake names etc seems to add a lot of sketch factor when what you're doing is perfectly legal (purchasing BTC).
If I'm using Bitinstant with my real name/info, then sending said coins to the Bitfog tumbler, is there really any reason for me to be concered with possible traces? The tumbler should, in theory, make my initial deposit obscured so that my transfer to SR (and/or other black markets) would appear diffuse?
Thankx

Yup, that's correct - once you tumble the BTC sufficiently their origins will be completely obscure. You don't actually get YOUR Bitcoin back from the tumbler, you get different Bitcoin back (or rather different encryption keys).. That's all to do with how Bitcoin works but for making a purchase, yes, your process should be more than sufficient. :)

As to OP q., can I add that if you live in a small town then yes, you need to be a bit more aware from say a buyer from a larger town. You should always use a tumbler for piece of mind, and you'll be fine.
