Hello everyone. My apologies if this is a silly question. I know it must have been asked a million times. But I am new and would like to start selling my products on SR. How do I start?

pay $1,000,000, and read the seller wiki, then your good to go...thats what I hear anyways.

Make sure you have a lot of time and money. Then read every forum post by Pine, Farmer Bob, and some others I can't remember right now. Make sure you have a security plan, the equipment and materials that you need, and that you can price your product competitively. Then, if you still want to vend, buy an account and work your ass off.

Pine has some seriously good posts especially on security :)

This poster is right on the money! :)
Also, do your research in the Shipping and Security forums, ensure you know how to correctly use PGP and ensure you have enough cashflow to last you a month of re-upping in case of finalisation delays / shipping delays etc.

Something that seems to get lost on a lot of new vendors unfortunately. :(

Not considering becoming a vendor, but thanks for pointing out Pine & Farmer Bob's posts, that sounds rather interesting... security matters anyway :)

Indeed; they don't seem to do any worst-case scenario financial projections before they start vending, instead seemingly thinking "Oh I have product, people will buy every day, I'll be making money in a week!". Quite disconcerting. Even the smallest scale vendors need to think of things from a real-world large scale supplier's perspective:
To allow for the time it may take some packages to arrive, you need to think of it in terms of providing your product upfront to your customers (SR sales), then waiting 2 / 3 weeks for them to clear it (SR shipping time), then receiving your money (SR finalisation). Occasionally one of the people you are supplying will get busted, robbed, or won't pay you (SR resolution). The principle of the real-world drug business needs to be applied here by ALL vendors in order to effectively manage their cashflow.
