Title: The problem with Bitinstant - please help!
Post by: ihaveadreamm on May 08, 2013, 09:20 pm
So I'm looking into Bitinstant to buy my Bitcoins, only, most tutorials say you need a Mt. Gox account to buy the actual coins once Bitinstant transfers your funds. Issue is, I've heard that Mt. Gox flags anyone who visits using Tor. Also, last I checked, it actually requires an ID picture to verify your information.

Question is, can I use a different exchange site that is Tor friendly? What site would that be?

Ultimately, can someone please point me towards an up-to-date Bitinstant tutorial/guide? I've been at this for some time now :(

You can have bit instant deposit the coins straight to you silk road account.
Go to you silk road account page and find your deposit wallet.  Then select deposit to bitcoin wallet on bitinstant.  Then COPY AND PASTE your bitcoin address into the appropriate field.  Make sure you double check your bitcoin address because you go through with the purchase.

There are many threads regarding how to get Bitcoin in the Security forum, and a number concerning Bitinstant in particular:

This is embarrassing, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to actually get started on Bitinstant. How do I actually get the form to fill out? I can only find the how to pages and the API page, which I'm unclear on as well.
