Title: Been scammed by le magnifique
Post by: dan2690 on May 07, 2013, 10:57 am
Hi i placed a fairly big order a week last Sunday which the vendor asked me to finalize early because of the attacks on silk road i placed my trust in him and did so but the order never came and it was 1st class royal mail so if it was sent it would have been here by now. He clearly state that he offers refunds on his vendor page. This is what he states.

 REFUNDS/RESHIP.
If for some unbeknown reason your order never shows contact me and we will work out a refund, each case will be dealt with individually and the percentage i offer may well differ from customer to customer and will be calculated using a very scientific method :)
Le MAG will never reship an order.

His messages are just rude all he says is no refund no refund. I think i am entitled to at least a percentage back. I have never had an a problem out of many orders until now, What can i do. can silk road support help me out here please this is a lot of money to me. You cant say you do refunds on your page and then flat out refuse.

The second you clicked finalise you lost any entitlement to a refund. I don't know how you thought that was a good idea. Escrow is there for a reason, if you go outside of it, it's your own fault.

If you don't know what escrow is then I'm guessing you were too lazy to read up on how SR works, and so only have yourself to blame. If the vendor did scam you, then you're not getting that money back, so I'd just take the hit and learn to never finalise early.

I know how silk road works, I FE early because all his other customers were at the time and didnt want him to lose out if silk road was gone forever. If he says he will work out a refund then he should honor it like Any honest vendor would.

Then all of his other customers are idiots. If he's a selective scammer then it's not going to matter what he says on his public profile, as he'll always have people willing to go outside of escrow who he can steal from without much consequence.

This is assuming he is a scammer and that your package hasn't just been delayed.

Hi dan2690,

Sorry to hear about your problems with this vendor. Please report him on the main site using the 'report this vendor' link on his profile detailing what has happened. A vendor's refund policy is only enforceable if you keep the order in escrow.

However, due to Finalising Early you unfortunately have no comeback if you have been scammed. :( The escrow system is there to protect you. You should never, ever FE for any vendor as doing so removes the protection of escrow.

Please read the Buyer's Guide in its entirety to familiarise yourself with your responsibilities as a buyer:
