Title: Possible bug - get new address -- RANDOM PERSON GOT MY COINS?!?!
Post by: utensildude on May 07, 2013, 12:52 am
Okay, sorry if this is a little confusing but im trying not to freak out right now.

I deposited 61 bitcoins to my SR account right after having clicked "get new address" for security purposes.

Well, 8 hours later and no coins show up so I copied and pasted my new SR address into the blockchain.

The deposit shows up with 52 confirmations.

Now for the kicker....an hour later there is also a WITHDRAWAL from the same address for 61 bitcoins to a completely random bitcoin wallet.

However, when I click on account ---> account history THERE IS NO RECORD OF EITHER RECEIVING OR WITHDRAWING THE BITCOINS. This means my account has NOT been hacked. This must be a bug, perhaps some problem with SR due to the random downtime.

Sorry for the caps but I don't know what to do. I messaged support. I cannot afford to lose 7 k...... :-\

Hi utensildude,

There is currently a delay with deposits being made to Silk Road.

The deposit process can take up to 24 hours but normally takes a lot less.
If you're checking the deposit on a site such as blockchain.info and you see the Bitcoin being moved to different addresses you're seeing Silk Road's tumbler in action. There is nothing to worry about, and you will receive your coins.

If you do not receive your Bitcoin within 24 hours of having sent them, you can contact SR Support on the main site using the link in the bottom right hand corner of any page.

Thank you Libertas...I have the same issue.  Normally it never takes this long.  Hopefully theyll pop up soon.

I'm sure they will! :) In the meantime all discussion on the topic is being redirected to the following thread in order to keep things concentrated in one place:

Please feel free to join in the discussion there - I'm locking this thread as the issue (or rather the cause) has been resolved.
