Post by: lametta on May 02, 2013, 08:43 am
How do I cancel an order and recover the bitcoin which are in store as dollars? I ask this because I placed an order that the seller hasn't tried and I are somewhat broke my balls. Thanks to anyone who can help me

You have to wait 7days (used to be 4). it's so buyers don't cancel the order in between the time the order has been posted and marked "in transit."
Also, as a vendor I have noticed I now have 7 days to post the order before the buyer can cancel. This is probably to prevent users cancelling their orders when vendors have sent them, but did not manage to mark them "in transit."

Hi lametta,

The cancel option becomes available 4 days after placing an order as a vendor has 4 days in which to process the order and mark it 'in transit'.
Due to the recent site downtime the countdown clocks were stopped, but have since resumed.

If you hover your cursor over the 'cancel' option it will tell you how long is left before you will be able to cancel the order.

The Bitcoin are in escrow as dollars because the item is hedged; this means that if you cancel, you will get back (in Bitcoin) the dollar amount that you paid, minus the 4% hedging fee that is automatically charged on all hedged orders.
