No, it means that threads will be locked if there is a valid, pressing reason to do so. The reason that the "The Score On Negging on Silk Road forums" thread was locked was given in the closing post: That reason was both valid and pressing as: a) it was completely off topic for a large portion of the thread and it had run its course as a result b) it was causing a huge rift between members that there was absolutely no reason for over something as ridiculous and innocuous as anonymous internet points, and nothing that was being said was being taken on board by the members taking part in the discussion meaning it would only have been brought even more off topic than it already was, causing even more harm to this community than it already had. Furthermore, I received no PM's regarding the locking which I requested should anyone have an issue with it. Ergo, as no PM's were sent to me, it appeared as though the participants had no issues with it being locked. If they had PM'd me with a valid reason for it be unlocked, I certainly would have listened to their views and unlocked it if necessary. I have stated that locking threads will be kept to an absolute minimum. That is all I am going to say on the matter, and I am not going to further explain my reasoning for locking that particular thread as I have stated it repeatedly here: this post, and the reasons given in my closing post can be considered as serving as examples of a valid, pressing reason for locking a thread with the caveat that locking threads will kept to a minimum - as close to zero as possible. I consider the discussion on this matter closed on my end, and will not be responding to any further queries from any member as to why that thread was locked as I have explained my reasons quite clearly here.
