No, it is not mandatory to generate a new funding address for every deposit. All addresses are uniquely associated with your account. However, I have found that hitting 'get a new address' for each deposit I make (as long as there is no deposit on it's way already) has resulted in no deposit delay issues. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but there's no harm in doing it in order to completely separate each Bitcoin transaction from another. Again, make sure you don't have a deposit on its way already as changing an address in the middle of a deposit can occasionally cause an issue where it will have to be pushed through manually.
