Hello fellow vendors,

There has been some problems uploading images.

When you upload an image onto SR it automatically reduces the file size.

For example..

Say your image is a jpeg 1.5mb file.. You need to upload it but you cannot because you get the error page.

SR automatically reduces the file size to around 20kb.

SO.....

You reduce the file size yourself to around 20kb.

Find some tools online about reducing image sizes and then upload.

This has worked for us so far.  sometimes you have to click the back button and try again but that's always been the case when uploading images on SR.

Some karma would be nice for our forum account ;).

Stay Trippy!

Thank you for letting others know how you got around the problem, TrippyNation.

Bug reports / Re: Auto-Finalize Not Working :O
« on: May 05, 2013, 08:37 pm »
Hi folks,

I completely understand your collective frustration and apologise for the current problems. Auto-finalise was turned off as it would have been completely unfair to have buyer's purchasing stats affected through no fault of their own as a result of not being able to log on. I realise that that created a situation by proxy whereby vendors were left without payment for a slightly longer period than they are used to which is indeed a problem in itself but that shouldn't continue for much longer.

As far as I am aware auto-finalise and the resolution center will be turned back on once the site has been up and running for 48 hours without interruption.

DPR is working on getting things back to normal but the attacks were completely unprecedented in Silk Road's history; every vendor with good intent here is valued by Silk Road, and whilst this is a free market and vendors are free to ply their wares on other sites, the market share that Silk Road holds represents an unrivaled opportunity to sell to customers on a global scale.

Silk Road was the first to pull down the barriers of entry to such markets and allow trading in a safe, anonymous manner and has built and earned the trust of vendors and buyers alike. It is run by a figurehead that obviously has incredibly strong ideals and somebody that we know is not going to just abscond with our funds as they have had plenty of opportunity to do so if they wished, especially when BTC was rising in value.

I can only speak from my own experience on the following point but I've never seen a hint of libertarianism from BMR's current owner and would guess that it is solely about the money for him. BMR currently holds a very small market share - I do not have very much faith that if/when it grows larger it will remain a safe place to trade. If it were ever to hold as much BTC in its user's wallets as Silk Road does then I fear that someone who is simply in it for the money would likely cut and run as the benefits of doing so would far outweigh the time and risk of running it as a going concern.

Please note that the above views are my own and are stated in a personal capacity, and do not reflect Silk Road policy or other moderator's opinions.

I am a no nonsense gentleman. And I see some very, VERY! disturbing allegations here. The main allegation is by a crack addict keeps babbling some nonsense about neighbors and DEA and what not. I see others have chimed in to insult me too. Well well, is taking me on, really that smart?

Aston Mother Fucking Marteen.

I just want to remind people so it is known by all concerned that releasing any private information, threatening to do so, or otherwise threatening a buyer or vendor will be dealt with swiftly and severely by both the moderating team and Silk Road administrators.

I'm not saying that that is what is happening here, I just want all sides to know that threatening any member's anonymity or safety will not be tolerated in this community.

AstonMarteen, whilst freedom of speech is held above all else here it is important to note that threats by vendors previously - some made in a rage, veiled or otherwise - have resulted in those vendors losing their vending privileges. This has already been sent up the chain to administrators so I believe it would be in both your interests to 'cool your jets' in terms of threats and accusations until the situation has been adjudicated upon.

Hello

Have been prepping a few listings up on our vendors page over the last couple of hours.

At the start of my work, every time I submitted a new item, I would get an error page stating:

"Sorry, an error was encountered.

We could not process your request. (ext)"

Going back to the Listed Items page would then show the item as not having been successfully listed. Repeating the process again (sometimes twice) would get things added to my listings.

Eventually I think we got a server restart or somesuch, as I got logged out. The login speed dropped compared to the current connection speed, so I'm guessing all users were booted and then barged our way through the doors of the login screen slowing it down.

I digress.

The situation is somewhat resolved. I still get the above error page upon posting a listing, but at least the listing does actually get added.

The above info may help some whilst it is tweaked into behaving. :-)

Much love to all.

Hi chemdog,

I was under the impression that this error had been resolved already as it was being worked on; obviously it is still occurring in one or two places, but rest assured it will be dealt with.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, I'm sure it will help! :)

Check out the meth vendor and product reviews thread, you should be able to find someone there:

Remember, always check the forums or do a search for the vendor's name before making a purchase to see if there have been any recent bad reports.

Customer support / Re: Potential Problem With Seller
« on: May 05, 2013, 04:15 pm »
No, he did not ask for my address again, but maybe he wrote it down....

I do appreciate your acknowledging that there may be a problem... I was born at night, but not LAST night! lol

I will give the guy a little more time and we will see what happens. Can you either tell me how to extend the finalize, and/or point me to instructions for that?

Auto-finalize and the resolution center itself have been stopped until the site has been up for 48 hours. However, normally to request an extension you simply click 'resolution' (when it becomes available) beside the order that you wish to extend and you'll be taken to the resolution center. There will be a number of options, simply select the 'extend' option, type a comment if you so wish and wait for the vendor to either accept or reject your proposed resolution. Most vendors are more than happy to agree to an extension.

Once an order is in the resolution center it will not auto-finalize, but if the buyer and vendor cannot come to an agreement then a Silk Road Administrator will make a final decision based on all the information available to them.

After much consideration and jumping through many hoops to get my Bits sorted, I have finally managed to place my first small order. My social anxiety monster may actually be satiated in the near future after many months of it totally owning me.

I just wanted to say thanks to all the helpful persons on this forum; I have managed to find answers to nearly every question I have had here, from delivery safety to PGP encryption, without a single post on my part and it has been quite helpful. I have learned a great deal on many subjects (even some I kind of wish I didn't know!).

I hope for many happy transactions through SR.

That's great sliver, best of luck your purchases, both this time and in the future! :)

I understand the 50 post threshold but it IS also pretty frustrating when you very much want to respond to a topic or offer and answer to somebodys question but you aren't eligible to post there yet.

I fully understand your frustration but it is an unfortunate necessity in order to keep the forums free of spam.

Does anyone know whats going on? Shits getting annoying.

Hi aviator,

I'm not experiencing that myself, but have you tried getting a New Identity? If the problem persists, restart the Tor Browser Bundle and see if that solves it.

It's not doing it anymore but it did do it to me 3 times. Kinda strange.

Glad to hear the issue has resolved itself; if it continues to occur please do let us know here.

Is it possible to change my forum name to same one I use on sr?
When I attempted to do login with this name, an error message indicated that the username already existed.
I then successfully logged in using my sr name, but  it only showed my original forum name (not my sr name).

Is there a way I can remove my forum name, and have it replaced with my sr name (and still keep my post credits)?

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi Slacka,

I'm not entirely sure but I'll ask one of the other mods and see if it's possible, and get back to you here.
