Newbie discussion / Re: bitcoins not showing in my account
« on: May 07, 2013, 12:08 am »
Could anyone help me.  Last night I transferred 5 BTC to my silk road account and it isn't showing. This was 12 hours ago.Any explanation?
I went to the blockchain info and it is showing the transfer. Usually when i transfer BTC it only takes an hour. This is perplexing.

Hi georgeJones,

There is currently a delay with deposits being made to Silk Road.

The deposit process can take up to 24 hours but normally takes a lot less.
If you're checking the deposit on a site such as blockchain.info and you see the Bitcoin being moved to different addresses you're seeing Silk Road's tumbler in action. There is nothing to worry about, and you will receive your coins.

If you do not receive your Bitcoin within 24 hours of having sent them, you can contact SR Support on the main site using the link in the bottom right hand corner of any page.

Locking this as it has become apparent that it is a site-wide issue and there is nothing more we can do from here.

Bug reports / Re: Withdrawal Issue - Invalid Address
« on: May 06, 2013, 11:57 pm »
I keep getting an "invalid address" message in a red box when trying to do withdrawals.  I have tried multiple addresses and even tried doing one to my SR deposit address and they all get the same error message.

Can someone please look into this and make it so withdrawals work again?

Hi ashylarry,

DPR is aware of the issue and it will be resolved as quickly as possible.

I did not read this whole thread after I saw it break out into a pissing match.... I do not have the time right now.

The point:

Mods - what about moving coins OFF SR?

Im an getting an "invalid address" error when I try pulling coins out of SR.

Has this been reported?

Thanks!

Hi Shroomeister,

Yes, DPR has been made aware of the issue and it is being worked on.

Silk Road discussion / Re: Backup plans
« on: May 06, 2013, 11:48 pm »
I had 3 URL that DPR posted last year as backups in case SR went down. NONE OF THEM WORKED, so don't get to excited saving those.

Those URLs will only become active if the current Silk Road URL is taken down permanently. Silk Road did not 'go down' recently, it was the subject of a DDOS attack which flooded it with requests making it impossible for legitimate users to reach it.

Same problem.

I was able a few hours ago. Not now.
I will try tomorrow. :)

Thanks for your patience DRshrooms - it's much appreciated! :)

Bug reports / Re: Can't make first deposit?
« on: May 06, 2013, 11:20 pm »
I've been trying for like 3 hours to make my initial deposit into SR.   Every time I click the link, I get "An error has occurred.  Please try again later."

Any help?

Hi hottie8698,

Please give it 30 minutes or so and try again; it may just be an isolated issue but please report back here if it doesn't work next time.

Hi,

I can't withdraw any coins.

My UN is alkaloyd -- I'm a vendor.

I've had a few customers finalize and I've tried all 3 of my main BTC addresses -- each time I get an invalid address error.

I've logged out / in several times.

Any help is appreciated!

Alkaloid

We are aware of this issue and DPR has been notified. Not sure if anything can be done at the moment to get around it, but the issue is being worked on!

I am unable to withdraw bitcoins. It keeps saying "bitcoin address invalid."
I logged out and logged back in and tried again. Still won't work. Tried another bitcoin address. Still won't work.

DPR has been notified of this.

Regarding the topic at hand, he/she has already been made aware of the deposit delay issues.

i have also been waiting over 6 hours for my coins . it has never taken this long . i have also read that some people have been waiting over 16 hours . this is not right .
its ok saying contact sr support but how long would that take to sort things out and thats after waiting 24 hours

I understand your frustration but please remember that Silk Road was recently subjected to a massive DDOS attack that was unprecedented in its history. The site is being worked on to prevent that from affecting it again in future, and this is perhaps causing some delays.

The policy has always been the same in relation to deposits though; they can take up to 24 hours to arrive, and if they have not arrived in that timeframe, contact SR Support so as they can resolve the issue.

As scout has mentioned in another thread:

[SNIP]
It's not concerning and it's not something SR can't handle.  This has happened before and it's disconcerting when you're waiting for the deposit, yes, but every time this has happened, everyone has received their coins - even if it has taken longer than usual, or longer than it should.  EVERYONE ALWAYS RECEIVES THEIR COINS.  So, please, be patient and if you haven't received your coins WITHIN 24 hours, send a message to SR Support on the main site.

There are many times when SR Support DOES have to push the transactions manually.

Remember, this is not just a simple transaction from one wallet to another - there is a coin tumbler involved here as well.

Yeah, that's what I figured, future reference to self: Don't try new things while in a hurry. I had to make a new wallet before Moneygram closed in hopes of being able to have my funds to make a purchase to be here by Monday.
I lost about $160. /:
But, I've made 1/8 back so far, lol.
Thanks for the help & kindness, maan, much appreciated.

Yup, it's very important to do your research beforehand. Again, very sorry to hear you lost your money - take your time in future, read as much as possible and always research the service before sending them money.

Glad to hear you're on the way to making it back though! All the best for the future! :)

Hey guys, I am not a vendor but have been a steady buyer for a couple months. I havent deposited more then 300 bucks at once, but I usually time it down to about 2 hours from my wallet to my SR account. Today I deposited a little more than that, and its been 6 hours and still nothing in my SR wallet. I see on blockchain that its getting tumbled, but how much longer, gosh

Hi lstermadden,

I personally haven't noticed any difference in the amount of time it takes to receive large amounts versus small amounts - I wouldn't imagine it would make a difference in any event.

There do seem to be some delays site-wide in regard to Bitcoin deposits so if you do not receive your Bitcoin within 24 hours of having sent them, you can contact SR Support on the main site using the link in the bottom right hand corner of any page.

according to some people here it now can take up to 24 hours before it shows up in your account

This has always been the case.

Bug reports / Re: Bitcoin Deposit Missing
« on: May 06, 2013, 09:40 pm »
I deposited over $400 worth of bitcoins into my SR wallet over 12 hours ago and nothing has shown up yet.  I have checked the address on blockchain and everything looks normal, but the BTC are not showing up in my account.  Will they eventually show up or am I screwed?
