With my tin foil hat firmly attached I would allege some people are operating an army of shill accounts they have groomed up to 100 posts and are now negging the fuck out of the mods, Libertas hasn't come to their attention yet and posting this will probably attract myself some more negative karma but so be it.

You know who you are you miscreants :-)

now mayte, that is not  a very fair thing to say about Libertas. at all. :( and its wrong anyway

What do you mean? I didn't say anything about Libertas, you sure you read my post properly?

wat im saying mate is that there is a reaeson Libertas is not being neged. and it isn't  becoz they have "'not been noticed". Libertas has earned their karma

To be honest I think it's mainly because I've only been a moderator for 5 days so haven't yet had the opportunity to get on the wrong side of people simply because they don't like what I'm saying. :P

scout and samesamebutdifferent have done - and still do - an incredible job of keeping this place ticking over properly and the forum would literally fall apart without them; especially without scout - he spends 18 hours a day helping people here and many people don't realise just how important having a moderator online actually is.

If there were no moderator online for significant periods of time then all of the forums will fill with that "bitswing/mt.gix/btkoin" spam and discussion would be next to impossible. More importantly, if there were no moderators online and anyone's information was released on the forum, it would stay there.

I appreciate the sentiment though, I'm glad to hear people are finding my posts helpful. I'll do my best to keep it up!

The mods are cracking their whips. It was getting a bit crazy with the "DID I JUST GET A CONTROLLED DELIVERY?!" posts in the main Silk Road sub, and "What if a vendor jerks off into your product" in the Shipping sub! (I swear the latter was a real topic somewhere).

Although... we sure could do with a "Crazy Shit" sub around here. All the Bathsalt Rambo threads would have been right @ home in there..

Not whips, colorblack - we are not totalitarians!! :P
I agree about a "Crazy Shit" sub-forum though, that would fill up very fast indeed. Bathsalt Rambo will forever live on in our memories. ;D

No problem, sorry I didn't see it a little sooner!

Eh ... you don't need to be apologizing - we can't be expected to be here 24/7 but we are here for the majority of the day/night and delete it as quickly as we can.

Indeed! We get to it as soon as we're able to do so. :)

Thanks for your reply! I understand how the process is done and that there is a lot to catch up on with regarad to recent event. I was just hoping for a current ballpark estimate with this in mind, are we talking a few more days or a few weeks. Somethjing like that. I understand that itś difficult to give an exact answer, but i thought if i throw it out there maybe iĺl get a little wiser. Thanks again mate.

No problem! :) Given that it was put into resolution a few days ago, I'd imagine it will be seen within the next 24 hours, possibly a little more, but certainly not weeks!

Can you please expand on what "archived" means? In other words, does it mean it can be queried on the search engine and found and/or linked to? Maybe this is more complicated than I know (I don't have a degree in computer security), but I'm not sure why, if it CAN be done, that it wouldn't be done. I imagine for any vendor this would be an essential feature to delete any potential evidence of any sort of activity on the site, especially given that every sale and amount sold is right there on their profile as public record.

By the way, Libertas, how long have you been a mod?

I'm not entirely sure but I'll attempt to find out for you.

It's not really necessary for a vendor to be able to delete their accounts or evidence of their activity; the police would need their password to prove that they own the account, and no vendor is going to incriminate themselves in that way. Most vendors are also employing security measures such as hidden encrypted volumes etc. thus negating the need for things to be deleted.

If a vendor were able to delete their accounts on a whim, what would stop them from switching to FE then scamming and suddenly deleting their account, disappearing without a trace? :-\

I have been a Mod since May 03, 2013, 12:32 am, but have been a member since late 2011.

Hi!

Ive been a SR user for something like 2,5 months and done + 20 deals. Domestic and international from different countries and no hassle or problems with any vendors or deliveries. One time i was a bit anxious when i had placed two things from the same vendor in the UK and a letter arrived with only one of the two orders. It wasn until another week had passed with regular contact with the seller during, that it arrived and it actually was sent at the same time. Not until i placed a domestic order did i get in touch with the stinking filthy sings of being ripped off. Thank God for escrow. Now itś in review and i feel that it would be hard to argue the vendors point with others having gotten the same treatment before this and later too.

My question is, how long does it take for the res. center to review the case and decide? It been there a few days now. If anyone knows about or has experience of it  iĺl be glad to hear about it.

Forehand

Hi forehand,

The issue in resolution will be dealt with when an Administrator processes the resolutions that are in the queue ahead of yours. There is a backlog due to the recent site issues, but rest assured it will be seen and processed - you won't be left out in the cold on it.

+1 for staying in escrow. :)

Hey just a quick shout to say hello. I'm a newbie for sure, just made my tails live bootable usb stick yesterday, got some bitcoins and sent my first deposit so I'm stoked, but I am a little concerned with how long it's taking for my deposit to show up. I checked it out at blockchain and it looks good with 21 confirmations and I'm still at a $0.00 balance.  I made the deposit around 3 hours ago. Should I be worried about my money or is this normal for a first deposit?

Hi mrmilleripresume,

Welcome to Silk Road! :)

Don't worry about your deposit, it will come through. Once you see it at your receiving address, it's been received by the system and will be credited to your account shortly.

You can read more about deposits on the SR Wiki here:

The withdrawal you are seeing is the Silk Road tumbler in action:

Hello all, I made a purchase on May 5 2013 and it seems as if I'm not gonna get what I purchased.  When I try to go to the sellers page it just directs me to send the seller a message.  The seller wont reply to any message I send.  As soon as I placed the order the seller marked the purchase as in transit when it was Sunday and they were very persistent on getting me to finalize the order.  I cant view what I ordered it says it was removed and I basically need to know what to do and how to get my cash back.  Must I wait til the resolve option is avaliable in 7 days? I would hope it can be reviewed so I can be made whole again soon.  Any help is much appreciated

Hi tracy,

When you click on a vendor's page and all you see is the messaging interface this means that their account has been suspended.

You will receive a full refund when this happens (as long as you do not FE - you were completely right to stay in escrow!); please click 'resolve' when it becomes available. I'm unsure as to whether or not you will have to wait for that long before receiving your refund but when the option becomes available, do click it just in case and request a 100% refund.

was reported weeks ago  >:(

Unfortunately due to the DDoS issues all hands were preoccupied with securing the site and dealing with the aftermath. A vendor must receive X amount of reports before they are suspended, and investigative action is taken when those reports are seen by an Administrator.

All buyers please note for future issues with any vendor: if they are scamming, or there are issues (apart from resolution issues), please click the 'report this vendor' link on their vendor page!

As far as I know, this is not a current feature on the site. How is it done?

Seems sort of foolish, given the nature of the site, that one can't erase any trace of his/her being here. Even if you are anonymous, I see no reason to not be able to delete your account and free up some server space.

Hi P2P,

It cannot currently be done. When an account is not logged into for 6 months or more it is archived.

Looks like this scammer bit the dust.

I had an order in escrow with him that I never received. It is two days out from resolution dead line. Am I likely to get my money back?

Thanks and regards.

Rejoice all, the wicked old witch at last is dead!

Yes, you will receive a full refund. Put it into resolution and request 100%.

75 k later...

You're a scumbag, SamGiancana. >:(

Maybe but have you see scouts karma? there is no way the recent -40k that has clocked up over the past 6 weeks or so is a result of their posting pattern, they are nothing but courteous and helpful on the forums. That is imho a concerted effort by some person(s), must have really upset someone I guess.

True that - someone has a problem with scout, that's for sure. And it is certainly for nothing as scout is really, really helpful and spends a HUGE amount of time here helping people.

Karma points were best described by another user as "anonymous internet points" - nothing to get too bothered about, but nice to see when they increase as a measure of how somebody appreciates something you have written. :)

Thanks, Libertas. Yes, I'm still able to find them. I just noticed more activity than usual, so thought I'd ask. And thanks to you and all the moderators.

You're very welcome! :)
