Well I guess getting sales on SR are over for me.  :-\

I have switched to a different product. I have gotten a couple of sales before my ranking was changed, but as a buyer I usually would avoid the people with no ranking next to their name

Everybody's gotta start somewhere eh? You had to when you first started up your vendor account! Just provide good quality product at good prices and you'll make your sales. They might be a little slow at first, but if you keep up a high level of service and you make customer security and satisfaction your number one priorities you'll build up a good reputation in no time! :)

Hi,

I'm thinking of opening a vendor account too fill the gap in street priced weed on silk road Australia. As my start up capital is low I would most likely be offering only 3.5 gram deals for $50+ $6 express shipping.

This thread is to gauge any interest in such a substance at such a price.
If supply was up I could probably move onto better priced and bigger deals.

So, who would be a customer?

Regards

3.5Fifty

Hi 3.5Fifty,

Just making sure you're aware of the $500 seller bond etc.?

Please read the Seller's Guide if you haven't done so already:

I did contact support. I hope this can be fixed.   :'(

Don't know if you had the time to read my post before you posted yours, but I don't think this is something that Vendor Support will be able to help you with, it has to do with your transactions over a period of time and the weight of your buyers feedback.

My ranking has disappeared.

I have posted the reason for this in your thread on the topic, BongSong:

I was ranked at 98% over this last year and now it shows:

has been a vendor for 1 year
was last seen: today
is unranked with 0% positive feedback from 28 transactions
has 34 fans - become a fan

Is this a bug?

The Wiki's got this one guys! :)

Feedback Score

What is Feedback Scoring?

You may have noticed the (100) next some vendors names, this is their Feedback Score. This is a quick way of finding out how reputable a vendor is, a step to take before reading some of their actual feedback. This score is a weighted average, based on many aspect of their transactions. The weights are determined by a few factors, and here they are, in order of importance:

How active a buyer is in rating other vendors
    The age of the rating
    The price of the transaction

In order for a vendor's rating to appear next to their name, they must be reviewed enough for it to be a meaningful average. This requires roughly 10 reviews per month, but can be more or less depending of the weights of the reviews.

The Formula

The buyer activity weight is determined by finding the average and standard deviation of the log of the number of vendors reviewed by buyers who've ever left a review. If the log of the number of vendors reviewed by the buyer who left the feedback is greater than the average, the review has a "buyer activity" weight of the number of standard deviations above the average plus one. If it is below average, then the weight is the inverse of the number of standard deviations below the average minus one.

The age weight is found by raising 1.02337 to the power of the review's age in days and then inverting it. We got 1.02337 by making a review half as valuable after one month as one that's just been posted.

The price weight comes from the following formula: 0.2*log(0.02*($price)+1)+1 where $price is in dollars.

You then multiply the weights together to get the total weight for that review. Add up all of the weighted reviews and divide by the total weight to get the weighted average, then do 25*(1-avg) to get "percent positive reviews" metric.

To get the seller rank, we find the averages and standard deviations of the "percent positive feedback" and the log of the total weight of the reviews for all active sellers. We then average the number of standard deviations a seller has above or below the average with a 4 to 1 weight on their average feedback over their total weight. This is a seller's rating, and we rank everyone according to this rating.

There are a few little details left out for brevity, but that's basically it.

BongSong, please take particular note of "This requires roughly 10 reviews per month, but can be more or less depending of the weights of the reviews."

OP, most vendors won't be able to engage in trade with you because it would require them to give up their anonymity.

This is true, trades are explicitly prohibited here for obvious reasons!

Thanks for the info on TOR ...... very helpful ..... I would be embarrassed to tell you how I thought the damn thing worked. Basically thought it was merely a portal that delivered the user to the SR website anonymously where Admin then controlled anonymity.  Your sentiment concerning the youth on SR is widely shared. I agree with your opinions concerning the freedoms and the oppression of such. I'm not sure where you live and no I'm not asking but with the exception of a major city like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles ....... where can the average 16 or 17 year old go and get virtually ANY drug out there ....I mean literally A to Z.  That's my only point ..... agree SR is safer ...... agree drugs are cleaner ...... how many underage people are trying drugs they would normally not have had access to. Maybe I'm living in a cave, my running the street days have been gone long ago, and prior to SR my purchases were always from other professionals. I'm not trying to turn this into a thread so please no response just wanted to get it off my chest. Appreciate the job SR and moderators do with the forums ..... best tool on SR and NOOBS  should use the forums to their advantage.

There is never a reason to be embarrassed about things you're unaware of! We ALL have to learn about EVERYTHING sometime! :)
Piggybacking on the anonymity issue, administrators / moderators do not 'control' anything here, per se. This is a free community that evolved out of a free market, and discussion on any topic is welcome. We moderate to keep things easy to find and the like, but we do not control. Every user is responsible for his or her own actions here.

I live in a relatively small place, a 'village' some would call it, and in a VERY good area. Despite this (or perhaps because of it), within 400 feet of where I'm sitting I can get my hands on literally ANY drug that is offered on Silk Road. Most of them are terrible quality, but they're there. I know all the people that sell them so I know that for a fact. All of those drugs are actually closer to me than alcohol or tobacco, with the nearest store being about 500 feet away! Ironic, eh! ;D

Trying drugs is not a problem for young people, regardless of whether they are legal or illegal. It is the misuse and abuse of drugs that is a problem (but if it is a problem for them personally, and it is harming none but themselves, what right has anyone to tell them to stop?) Alcohol, for instance, is one of the most destructive drugs out there. People drink that without any judgement being passed on them - for the most part - all the time.

I am trying drugs that I had access to, but that I refused to use because of what might be in them. Now I can get clean ephedrine for working out better than I can naturally, Valium to relax me in the very occasional circumstance that I wish to use it, Viagra to satisfy my other half's ridiculous sex drive and the occasional THC edible that I had never tried before but was seriously missing out on the fun of.

This place represents the freedom to do all of that, and more going forward. When you realise that you are experiencing TRUE freedom to do as you wish with YOUR body without anybody restricting you, that is an incredibly powerful eye-opener.

Without Silk Road, I'd be a much different person - and that person is somebody that I would never want to be again.

i APPRECIATE  all of you for taking the time to help me solve this conundrum.
wHATS A good way to launder it?
creating an onion site? Is it as easy as it sounds?  hmm
virtual credit card?
Holy smokes this is going to be fun.

Please keep  the suggestions coming. I am trying to become a legendary vendor on sr and i need to master this process before that happens.

Umm.. I'll just leave this here...  :-\

The process of creating the appearance that large amounts of money obtained from serious crimes, such as drug trafficking or terrorist activity, originated from a legitimate source.

Without it, international organized crime would not be able to function.

"Cashing out" is NOT the same as "laundering". Laundering is the process of making your money look clean (running it through a business etc.,) having receipts to prove the income 'came in', and of course, paying taxes on it.

Don't be afraid to use the Search function - that's what it's there for! :) Do the search from inside whichever forum or thread you wish to search through, or to search all of the forums just search from the forum homepage.

Is that really true?  Searching while viewing a subforum only searches that subforum?  Wtf -- no wonder the search results are so goddamn screwy half the time.  Why wasn't I informed of this, damn it!

Rawr and stuff :P

Haha, yeah a lot of people don't seem to be aware of this!

Searching on the homepage will give results from all forums.
Searching within a specific sub-forum will give results from that specific sub-forum.
Searching within a thread will give results from that specific thread.

Simples! ;D

1.Why Do We Have to post 20 or more post to be a full member ??
2.Why Is the Newbie Section Mostly Dead?

I presume by "full member", you mean a member that has the ability to post in all of the forums? Once you reach 50 posts you will be able to post in all forums, not just the Newbie discussion forum.

This restriction was brought in to contain the mass-spammers that appear here from time to time. Keeping them in one forum (by means of a 50 post restriction) means we have a chance to delete them before they are able to spread out to all the main forums.

The Newbie forum is quite lively but the majority of older members stick to the other forums because new members tend to ask the same questions over and over (not their fault - they're just new!), and the discussion on the other forums is generally geared more to their interests.

I also have an idea. Realize that we are on an illegal website where a LOT of money is exchanged, and it is everyone's job to use common sense and pull their heads out of their asses before the haphazardly enter their login info. And I'm not even going there about entering the PIN.

^ This.

Ha, was just about to post the exact same thing when I scrolled down a bit and there was your comment! ;D

Bug reports / Re: Feedback disappearing

This was very strange. I finalized for an order yesterday and left a pretty detailed feedback for the transaction. I then went to check if the feedback showed up on the vendor's page (as I sometimes do) and it was not there. No biggie. I've seen this happen before and thought nothing of it really.

So, today I placed another order and after the order was sent to the vendor (different vendor) it usually takes you to your open orders page, right? Well it did, but it also prompted me at the top of the page to leave feedback for yesterday's order that I already finalized and left feedback for. I've never seen this before after 40+ transactions on the SR. Can anybody explain this? A bug maybe? Idk, but it was weird to say the least.

Hi birdstheword,

Was the item you were purchasing a stealth listing my any chance? Your experience sounds somewhat like a stealth listing posting, but not at the same time. ???

Silk Road doesn't prompt you to leave feedback - are you sure you were visiting the correct URL: silkroadvb5piz3r.onion? Also, is there any chance you were using Atlantis of BMR?! That might sound like a stupid question but it's happened before where people thought they had been using SR but were actually using BMR.

For now we'll treat it as an isolated incident. If we get more reports of it, we'll have it looked into.

well i think even if you use vpn your never really safe sure they say that they will spy on on you but they keep logs and stuff also i think that isp will always spy on us because the illegal stuff we people we are doing on the net

Some people route Tor through a VPN to stop their ISP from seeing that they're using Tor. In order for the ISP to know, the VPN provider would have to tell them. You cannot trust the VPN provider not to do this, but if you use the right VPN service it's less likely than with others.

Other people route their VPN through Tor so as it's impossible to see that they're using a VPN in the first place, but everybody has their own reasons for their own security setup. ISP's will likely try to spy on their customers more in the future but that is why we have to fight against this internet oppression!!

Libertas
But What Can We Do Against The Internet oppression nothing because they own it all we can do is try to find a much harder way to stop the isp from spying us

Nobody 'owns' the internet. The ISP may own the cabling infrastructure but the internet is free. And if we want to effect change we can rise up and fight the oppression, stand tall and strong against the thugs that are employed as government enforcers. Learn your rights, and don't allow them to be trod on by the boots of legislative footsoldiers.

It's more efficient and modular.  At first glance you'd think that maintaining a separate database that's not coupled tightly to the Bitcoin network would be a poor move, but really I'm convinced that for something the size of Silk Road it's absolutely the way you want to go.  I mean there's a lot of technical junk I could cite, but really that's all there is to it -- it's efficient and modular :)

I wouldn't consider it a poor move at all, whether at first glance or not. :P It is modular, yes, and certainly more efficient! :)
