Discussing real-world "connects" is likely to end up with at least one person in legal trouble. Please do not respond to LE tactics like the one in the OP.

Hi HollandGroup,

Sales are NOT permitted here without a vendor account. You can read the Seller's Guide to learn how to obtain one.

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Frequently_Asked_Questions#Vendor_questions

No one forces anyone to buy here, that is true, but if you wish to sell your products here then you will need to purchase a vendor account.

MBB coming soon:)

Hi Mcrad,

I presume you have read the Seller's Guide in full as instructed to do before you purchased your vendor account? It quite clearly states that you may NOT link to other e-commerce websites.

NOTICE: Do not create listings that instruct customers to pay outside of escrow, or are used for any purpose other than to list an item to be sold for the listed price using the site checkout system. If you instruct your buyers to pay you in any other way, or to contact you off-site, your seller privileges WILL be revoked. You may provide back up contact methods such as an email address in case of site failure, but may not link to other e-commerce websites.

Your post has been edited to ensure you conform with the rule regarding advertising accounts on other e-commerce websites.

EDIT: The above was stated in error. This person does not actually have a Silk Road vendor account. Please do not attempt to do business with them until they do.

To avoid this I have all the items in the listing including shipping cost.
Standard shipped priority.
Still manage to stay one of the cheapest.
Of course that is not possible when you have more expensive methods like tracking etc.

Just to make sure you're aware: shipping costs are exempt from commission, but by including it in the price of the listing you have to pay commission on it. Could work out cheaper for you if you separate the two as you won't be paying fees on it.

Not that I'd do this... but potentially I could list all my products at $1 each and charge $60 for postage on one item, $100 postage on another, etc.
I'm sure SR admins would see it though and make me change the prices.

Technically speaking, yes you could. Vendors have tried to exploit this in the past but have quickly been brought into line by SR admins.

I am too, going to have to enter my first resolve shortly... seems I have been unlucky, the vendor is one that seemed to be working perfect for everyone, until suddenly he run into some problems... my order took 7 days from processing to in transit (some of that time, true, might be due to the attack we suffered), but then 11 more days have gone and nothing showed up, the vendor hasnt logged in for the last 5 days, has no active listings...

I hope I'll be able to ask for a full refund in this case, since it seems most of the orders marked as in transit the last days he was here have not arrived either. Sucks a bit, so far everything had been real smooth for this happy noob!!

You will be able to ask for any refund that you wish, but if you request 100% it is quite likely that you will get it if the vendor's recent history suggests that there are odd issues occurring.

It works on ebay, so it is doable :)
Most of the buyers have their homecountry selected. The buyers usually have 2-3 options for shipping, so it shouldn't be hard to write a script that decides which option is  applicable for the buyer based on his home country. If there is more than 1 option applicable, the script can display the lowest priced one.

Hi experimental333,

Please refer to my last post in this thread outlining why, although this is possible, it is not likely to be implemented any time soon. Silk Road is NOT ebay, and should never be thought of as even being in the same vein as it.

Getting familiar with something makes you comfortable, getting comfortable makes you lazy, and getting lazy gets you caught.

Move me up in the line?  ;)

Just kidding, thanks Libertas

Haha, if I could do that I'd have to do it for everybody which would leave you right back where you started. :P

Hope it all gets sorted soon though! :)

Posting this in the newbie forum as i'm pretty sure its a noob question.

So, my latest purchase seems to have gone a bit south. Is it best to hit this immediately, now its available - or should I wait until the last day as a courtesy to my usually faultless vendor?

I don't want to cause any offense or inconvenience the vendor as I use them quite a bit, and they have always been great, until this order.

I was in contact several days ago, and asked to re-supply my PGP for re-postage. Seems like it was just a human error (there were two parts to the order and I think they just forgot one i think).

Anyway, haven't heard back since I did that, and despite the vendor logging in every day, the couple of messages I sent are sitting unread.

I have 6 days left until AF, is there any harm in holding off until the last day, or are you meant to hit it right away?

Thanks in advance for any help folks.

Hi Wepromisetwenty,

Please read the SR Wiki F.A.Q. and the Buyer's Guide if you haven't done so already:

My order hasn't arrived or it's not what I expected.

If your order hasn't come after waiting 10 days, you should click "resolve" next to it on your orders page. This will put the order into resolution. Read all of the instructions in the Resolution Center, and try to come to an agreeable resolution with your vendor.

Leaving an order 'til the last day is highly inadvisable for a number of reasons, one of which is in case you have login issues (meaning that your order would auto-finalise and hurt your stats), and another is that the vendor will be expecting the payment at the end of day 17. If you enter resolution and propose an extension on the final day - or the day before that - then the vendor is suddenly forced to wait an extra X amount of days rather than knowing beforehand that there would be a delay in getting paid.

Resolution is an incredibly common process, and taking an issue to resolution does not impact negatively on the vendor in any way, shape or form.

Regarding the unread messages, it is possible they have seen them by using the 'bulk reply' feature, but not marked them as read (meaning they still look unread to you).

In short, you should enter resolution now and request the appropriate option for your situation, either an extension or a % refund.

EDIT:
...just clicking on resolve adds 5 days anyway.

Thanks samesamebutdifferent, I was unaware of that!

Haven't been able to log in for days, I have four current orders. One I need to finalize asap. I haven't been phished, I hope. I always enter url myself: silkroadvb5piz3r.onion

I read some threads and done what mods suggested to, samesamebutdifferent has even had the same problem. I have created a temporary SR account and got in touch with support, supplying my last transaction etc. and asking for a password reset. I haven't heard back from them at all in about 36 hours. I have money in my wallet as well. I need to regain access but am having no luck at all. When do I message again because I'm starting to get a little worried now..

Thanks in advance for any help

SR Support is currently experiencing a 48 hour+ backlog. As it has been 72 hours with no response though, feel free to send one more message detailing the problem and providing as much information as possible that will help them determine that the account is indeed yours.

Apart from that I'm afraid there's nothing else that can be done. :(

This is a great suggestion, but unfortunately it wouldn't be doable as many vendors offer multiple shipping options for many of their products - regular, priority, express etc.
Perhaps open up a thread in the Feature requests forum about it? Would be a great feature to have for sure, if it could be implemented in such a way as to reflect the various shipping options available!

Libertas

Yeah you're right - its a shame really though as it is a great point  - i've experienced this too, and by the time i've put the stuff in my basket and actually looked at the shipping options, I can't be bothered to go browsing again so just take the extra cost  ::)

I know i'll be slated for making the comparison for the 10000th time, but this same selling tactic is common on... dare i say it... eBay. Their answer is to show the shipping price in addition to the item price, but still separately from the original price. It would be cool to have that on SR. Obviously its a little more work for you guys, to accommodate the multiple options, but maybe there is a way. Even adding it to the tooltip would be great, and wouldnt even mean changing the page layout

The main problem with adding new features to the site is that the code has to be absolutely bullet-proof. Any new code introduced into Silk Road potentially introduces a security risk so things that are unnecessary aren't developed or thought about as much as things that will help secure the site.
