If I FE'd after a vendor was banned, can I get a refund? I didn't mean to click FE, but their profile is gone.

Hi averageguy,

I'm afraid that you cannot get a refund after you have FE'd. Whether you FE'd by mistake or not, escrow is there for your protection. Please be more careful in future.

See the SR Wiki here for more information:

Newbie discussion / Re: Old Vendor - Can't Post
« on: May 13, 2013, 07:25 pm »
I understand the reason for wanting to vet accounts but I am a vendor from over a year ago, have old topics in offers and reviews, and can't post there now. The idea makes sense but it is broken. This is my 50th post. I was lucky to have 39 from before. I feel bad for the rest of you.

Hi mondomax,

If you can think of a way around this, suggestions are always welcome.

Newbie discussion / Re: "The Top Shelf" beware
« on: May 13, 2013, 07:23 pm »
So whats the word on this? Did he pull his listings and delete his account or was it deactivated by moderators? I'm hoping the latter because I have a FE qp from him due soon.

Please see my post two posts above yours:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=158103.msg1122921#msg1122921

But how did he get away with all the great feedback that put him in the top 6%?  All of which are "FE waiting to clear" or overly trusting "Hey, I FE'd and I would order 10 kilos from this nigga" type comments.

Does this mean feedback can be largely faked?

No one has ever recieved something from The Top Shelf. But you see reviews that they did.

Answer: Yes and it needs to be addressed.

You can see how feedback score is calculated here:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Feedback_Score

It is impossible to address this in any other way than the way that is already being done due to the way the Tor works. If a vendor creates false accounts and makes false purchases then those ratings count for very, very little as they have no other buyer activity linked to them, thus they have a very low buyer weight.

Furthermore, there would be no need for a discussion on 'more being done to prevent this' if buyers stopped Finalising Early. There NEEDS to be a modicum of personal responsibility here!
It is recommended EVERYWHERE that buyers do NOT Finalise Early!

It's even on the 'About' page (accessible by clicking "a few word from the Dread Pirate Roberts in the top right corner) that buyer's should be reading when they first join Silk Road:
http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/about

Always use the escrow system! This can't be stressed enough. 99% of scams are from people who set up fake vendor accounts and ask buyers to pay them directly or release payment before their order arrives. This behavior should be reported immediately. If you do choose to do this, we will be completely unable to help you in the event of fraud.

The ONLY person at fault in a scam involving FE is the person that released their money from escrow before their product arrived. "Finalise" - by its very definition - infers finality.
To the Silk Road system, it means that you have received your order and are fully satisfied with its contents.

In short: STOP FINALISING EARLY!

Libertas: thanks for the selfless consideration, but this one is most definitely for you knights.

If within the next week no one has any ideas for us to share the bounty of our latest Fleetwood harvest with the admins then lucre it shall be.

Thank you for your attention.

Muskabuzz

Much obliged! :)

Regarding my own portion of what you may be donating, it will go toward a little something that the moderators have in the works. Very kind of you though, muskabuzz.

hang on, Not that i dont think the admins do an amazing selfless job for practically nothing but helping us out, (read my previous posts, you'll see my gratification) However My idea was the one that got the most votes, And i was told by muska that im not getting the prize because the poll was widely ignored. I dont think this is very fair at all.

Surely if you create a contest and the "rules or conditions" are that the winning vote gets the bounty, Then the winning vote SHOULD get the bounty. I was watching that bloody poll for weeks happy as hell to try this new product because muska and everybody else has been bigging it up so much i just had to give it a try. And now after winning im getting nothing. I even suggested getting a portion of the bounty, But have received nothing.

Libertas do you think this is fair as a mod?

'Fairness' is an entirely subjective concept - whether or not I think something is fair is irrelevant as my definition of fair, just like yours, are always going to be different from everybody else's. Furthermore, as a moderator I feel it would be best to withhold my opinion in this regard lest it influence public opinion one way or the other.

As you can see from my response to muskabuzz's post, I will not be personally benefiting from this in any way, shape or form, so I believe that what I have written above can be seen as being completely objective.

However, I will state that it IS up to muskabuzz what is done with the bounty in this instance as THEY are the ones that ran the competition. We operate within a free market; that is something that is important to keep in mind about EVERYTHING, both here and on Silk Road itself.

Newbie discussion / Re: feedback after auto-finalization
« on: May 13, 2013, 06:59 pm »
@Darktime other vendors would have a way of knowing where you live, and they know you sell from that location or near it.

The above is correct. It leaves vendors open to blackmail.

Sure, I have two accounts for buyer and for vendor ;-).

I am asking bcoz one order was finished by auto finalization and customer is complaining after long time and he want refund money.
I´d like to know, when I refund him only part of BTC and he will be disappointed can he give me bad rating?

Excellent, glad to hear it!

Regarding your situation, I would advise not refunding money unless it is a request that has been asked in the resolution center. If you believe the buyer did indeed receive the product, and have proof of this, provide it to the administrator presiding over the resolution.

You can read more about how resolutions are decided here:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Frequently_Asked_Questions#How_are_resolutions_decided

However, if it is simply a case of the buyer messaging you AFTER the resolution process has already taken place, I would strongly advise telling them that the issue has already been resolved in the resolution center.

If you get a reputation as being soft on people who are trying to scam you then you will become an easy target for others. I'm not saying that that's what is happening here, but it has to mentioned.

Buyers can edit their feedback at any time within a 3 month period from the date they finalised the order. After this, the ability to remove feedback is gone as the item is removed from their 'view feedback' list.

Regarding how a 1/5 may affect your feedback score, you can read it here:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Feedback_Score

The Top Shelf's account has been suspended whilst an investigation into his behaviour takes place.

Can anyone search  my vendor mane on the SR. lemme know if there is another MrNiceGuy007

You entered your login details and PIN into a phishing site. You cannot log in to your account as somebody else currently has control of it and changed your password and PIN.

BUYERS:
Please do NOT purchase anything from this vendor until the issues have been resolved. This is also the reason why ALL addresses NEED to be encrypted with PGP.

Isn't this the same guy who fell for the investment scam today?  Damn, I can't believe you were a vendor!

Indeed - on both counts!

Libertas, how should I do that? Anyways, I'm thinking of making another portfolio and uploaded everything there.

Also, hit me up with your request. Would love to help this community out.

You can read a quick guide to it here, posted by the ever-helpful member community member 'pine':

Is his signature not illegal too then? Or does that part matter? Just can't make posts linking to outside sources?

Or?

Ah yes, I didn't notice that! I haven't slept in ~32 hours so I'm a little jaded. Well spotted, and thank you! I just glanced at it. :-\ Need sleep!

I have edited my post above in regard to this; thanks again! As they are not a Silk Road vendor, however, there isn't much that can be done about it.

i will change it if needed?

much love

As this is a place where free-speech is protected above all else, I cannot compel you to change your signature. I misread your original post in this thread due to overtiredness, and I apologise for my reply in response to it.

I don't want to ask you to change your signature, but there is still a lot of debate as to the legitimacy of Atlantis (presumably simply because it's new). Just be careful over there, ensure your security is completely up to scratch, and NEVER let any sensitive information be revealed, nor transmitted without PGP.
And that goes for everybody!

whats your vendor profile i need BTC

In the interest of buyer safety I need to point out the following if anyone is considering buying their Bitcoin from a vendor on Silk Road:

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Buyer%27s_Guide#Getting_Bitcoins
Quote
Please note that, while there are many vendors offering to sell Bitcoins directly from this site, we are not set up to facilitate this and it is very easy to get scammed this way. Until we are set up for it, we recommend you get Bitcoins from a third-party exchange. If you do get scammed we will have no way to help you.

I need help with a bitcoin transaction from a Silk Road vendor.

Unfortunately we do not offer support for these kinds of transactions because we cannot hold your payment in escrow. If there is an issue, you'll have to work it out directly with your vendor.

Whoever came up with this idea of the 50 posts rule did not think things out. I am a long time buyer who has a problem with a vendor I need to voice so others dont fall into the trap and now I have to spam 50 messages. I would love to know who the brainiac who came up with this idea... I mean really...

The Newbie forum was introduced in order to stop the "bitswing" spam from being able to be posted on every forum. If that happened, discussion would be completely impossible. Forcing the spammers to reach 50 posts before leaking their spam onto the main forums gives us a chance to eradicate it before that happens. As we are all using Tor, there is no way to filter this in any other manner.
When you reach the main forums you will appreciate it more.

Would be cool if the time of registrations would count. I've been here on forums just reading for 18 months now but I cannot post elsewhere than newbies section after the 50 rule came out.
But anyhow I don't complain, 50 posts is just a little bit much for me to do in one subforum if I'm the type who posts once in a month or so.

Funny thing too is that I have 24 posts now but only 2 in newbie section. Yeah whatever, I feel a little bad for just spamming so instead I'll write posts here like this one.

Time of registration cannot count as the spammers could simply register X amount of accounts everyday, wait the necessary period of time and then post their spam everywhere, completely negating the point of having the Newbie forum.

Newbie discussion / Re: feedback after auto-finalizing
« on: May 13, 2013, 05:07 pm »
Hello, is it possible to put feedback when order was finished by auto-finalize?

Hi MrGardener,

Do you mean leave feedback on a purchase you have made, or leave feedback on a buyer that let an order auto-finalise?

If you want to leave feedback for a purchase:
Accout -> view feedback -> edit

There is currently no way of leaving feedback for buyers, but an auto-finalisation will affect their pruchasing statistics and show up there when they try to purchase something from any vendor in future.

Also, just have to throw this out there: I sincerely hope you're using separate accounts for vending and purchasing.
