Hi RastaManGetup,
The forum captcha will be removed once you reach 100 posts.

This section allows you to view all posts made by this member. Note that you can only see posts made in areas you currently have access to.
Does this require ALL users to type letter/number ode, or just us noobs?
Please note that, while there are many vendors offering to sell Bitcoins directly from this site, we are not set up to facilitate this and it is very easy to get scammed this way. Until we are set up for it, we recommend you get Bitcoins from a third-party exchange. If you do get scammed we will have no way to help you.
I need help with a bitcoin transaction from a Silk Road vendor.
Unfortunately we do not offer support for these kinds of transactions because we cannot hold your payment in escrow. If there is an issue, you'll have to work it out directly with your vendor.
So maybe this is a dumb question, but do buyers need to make any kind of profile? Or are your stats all a seller needs to see about you?
Are you tired of little privacy that comes with regular email or even tormail? Are you tired of tormail not working right or there servers being down? Do you want a decentralized, encrypted way of communicating with others? Do you want something that has even more privacy than PGP. Then look no further than BitMessage.

How does Bitmessage compare to other messaging methods

Only one drawback that I found. You have two days to check your bitmessages after someone sends you the message.
I am surprised SR is not booming with members that are switching to this new system. We all need to adapt and get with what is new and leave the past for our own good.
IDK too much about bitmessage so don't ask me all kinds of questions. Check out the links.
Peace.

IF I HAVE CONFIRMATION FROM THE USPS THAT THE PACKAGE I MAILED WENT OUT BUT YOU SAY YOU DIDNT GET IT,OR YOU SAY IT WAS EMPTY IM SORRY BUT THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS..FOR SMALLER ORDERS I (MIGHT )BE WILLING TO HELP OUT SOMEHOW DEPENDING ON THE CICUMSTANCES.WE ALL KNOW THAT THERE IS A RISK OF NOT GETTING THE PACKAGE.THAT IS JUST PART OF DOING BUISNESS THIS WAY. I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR SOMEBODY RIPPING OFF A PACKAGE.IF I SENT EMPTY PACKAGES I WOULDNT BE SELLING FOR VERY LONG.
((IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG)), I WILL DO WHAT I CAN TO MAKE IT RIGHT UNLESS YOU HAVE ALREADY GIVEN ME A BAD REVIEW.IN THAT CASE OUR BUSINESS WILL BE DONE.SO PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH ANY DISPUTES BEFORE POSTING A REVIEW."

Liberatas, I've been having this problem ever since I joined at the end of March - frustrating thing was, I couldn't even get in to this forum to say I was having a problem...because of the captcha problem!
When I go to 'Preferences' there is no option called 'uncheck enable javascript', not under settings or anywhere, so that option isn't available, I don't know why that is (I use PC), or maybe it's somewhere else I haven't yet found.
I seem to have solved the problem by using Internet Explorer browser, tho' I swear it wasn't working on that a few weeks ago...it definitely still isn't working on Firefox or Tor.
So I don't know what the problem was but I'm able to post up now.
p.s. I get the three numbers problem too, but simply refresh and it brings up four letters and three numbers again.

I can't say with 100% certainty, but I do believe the address is no longer accessible to anyone once the vendor marks the order in transit. If I understand things correctly, it's encrypted on the server (not the same thing as encrypting your address though) so there's no real risk of it being intercepted when you submit the order .... but I would definitely encourage you to encrypt your address (and any other sensitive information) BEFORE you send the order. That way, even if SR were compromised or your vendor's account were compromised, your information would remain safe / un-exposed.
...should I cancel the order and resubmit using pgp for my security ? As I still have the option to cancel ?
Guys any1 hve the url cant acces the main site? :S
Cheers
When checking out, you will see which orders will be hedged and which won't. After the order is placed, your escrow balance will reflect the dollar value of your hedged orders and the Bitcoin value of your unhedged orders. All hedged orders are hedged as soon as the order is placed. So when getting a refund for hedged items, don't be surprised if the number of Bitcoins you get back is not the same as the amount you paid.
We are all the same IP. You would think they would have fixed this irritating bug by now.
Hi uniwiz,
As far as I'm aware it's not possible to fix that for the very reason that you mentioned - I'm not sure if it's solely a Tor issue or also a shortcoming in the SMF forum software but to the best of my knowledge it cannot currently be done.

There is an option DPR has in the control panel to specify the maximum amount of searches per time interval, however as all connections will appear to be from 127.0.0.1 it cannot differentiate between users, only the IP which is a security feature built into the software. As searches take vastly greater resources than standard forum browsing activities, I imagine DPR has kept it in place to ensure the volume of searches does not overload the server. Just try the search 2-3 times and generally it should work, mine do usually by at least the 2nd attempt.
is it not against silkroad terms?
thanks.
The buying and selling of vendor accounts is expressly prohibited. If an account is found to have been bought or sold from a source anywhere other than Silk Road itself, it will be shut down immediately.

Really? I've seen it done on the forum here and I've seen it done on other forums and places...
This is worrying it seems to be happening to a lot of vendors. Was it a pshing scam?
