Customer support / Re: read only access to vendor blacklist ?
« on: May 15, 2013, 11:53 am »
so being a new vendor we can't ask people to F.E and are easy pickings for scammers.. (Lucky I don't actually have any drugs for sale LOL)

Anywho - We have had a couple of people try to scam us already :[  Which is odd as we don't sell many items.....  Most are people with no / little feedback but one person in particular had heaps of purchases made and like a 30% refund rate... which makes us believe there are selective scammer-buyers..

I know their is the vendor blacklist on the vendor forums (and I know how you get access to it) but before we meet the requirements would it be possible to offer new vendors read-only access to the black list ?

Lucky for me another vendor friend shows me the list however I can't keep asking them to show me any additions every 5 minutes.

Perhaps read-only access would be good for new vendors.. For some of us it is going to take a while to meet the requirements to get access :[

Sorry, mrmining, but that is not possible. The Vendor Roundtable has requirements that must be met before access is granted. That - unfortunately in this case - applies to everything inside it.

Thread locked.

Silk Road discussion / Re: Need advice
« on: May 15, 2013, 10:30 am »
Whoa you got me! I sent out $3000 in orders this week, but decided to screw this one particular user out of $120. Give me a fucking break. I marked the package as " never arrived" because I didn't feel like being publicly lynched. But since you brought out the rods lets get this shit done with! Tried to be a decent vendor and just issue a refund but noooooo. I must be a scammer! That was my 120 in product I refunded to save face. I'm fishy? Cool avatar by the way. Shows everyone your down with the "cool kids."

How much you send out weekly in orders has no bearing on this issue at all. I didn't "bring out the rods", InfiniteSource, I simply stated the facts of the matter as they currently stand - all of which are verifiable by reading the posts above.

Nobody called you a scammer. Where's that coming from? ???
What I said was that the issue should have been allowed go to resolution, and as you seem so adamant that the buyer did indeed receive their order (meaning that you presumably have a DCN confirming this) that had you allowed it to be brought to resolution, you would most likely have received your full $120. I am addressing the points that you are bringing up, and for some reason you are becoming more and more irate about it. ???

Cool avatar by the way. Shows everyone your down with the "cool kids."

You're acting like an infant and making yourself look like a fool, something that reflects badly on you as a vendor a lot more than your attempted insults affect me as a moderator - just something that you may wish to keep in mind going forward.

InfiniteSource can you take a photo of the screen to show the buyer that USPS says it has been delivered?  Obviously covering up any info that you would want to be hidden and perhaps send it to buyers email?  This would then show the buyer where you are coming from ;)

The vendor would have had the opportunity to provide proof of delivery in the resolution center. I find it odd that they decided to mark the order as 'not received' instead of allowing it to be taken to resolution, proving that the order was indeed delivered by providing the DCN to the administrator, and receiving their money. Instead they did not allow it to go to resolution, marking it as 'not received', and did themselves out of $120. But hey, what do I know - I'm just a humble ol' forum moderator, right InfiniteSource? ::)

Does the above strike anybody else as being a little odd?

Wrong. The address he told me had received the package, according to the USPS.  What the fuck is the point in having tracking if support wants to stammer around saying "you asked him to finalize? Oh no, he never got the package. You have tracking? Well he never got the package. You said tracking? He never got the package." When the vendor with 40 transactions and 100% good feedback is thought of as being the one lying the system is broken. Might I add out of the several dozen orders I filled over this week, this one single user is the ONLY ONE to have a problem.

I asked him to finalized once because I saw the package was delivered to the provided address. Stop turning this into something its not. Suddenly the word finalized is some dirty word. I ASKED HIM TO FINALIZE THE ORDER AFTER USPS MARKED IT AS DELIVERED TWO DAYS AGO. TWO DAYS.

Around and around we go.

Actually, no, I'm not wrong. You asked a buyer to finalise when they had not received their order, as stated in the original post in this thread. The point in having a tracking number is in order for you to be able to provide it to an administrator in resolution as proof to support your claim that the item was sent and delivered.

Support did not **"stammer around saying "you asked him to finalize? Oh no, he never got the package. You have tracking? Well he never got the package. You said tracking? He never got the package."**, as it never had the opportunity to be taken to Support in the first place. ???

Am I turning this into something it's not? You asked a buyer to finalise, they said they didn't get the order. To resolve the situation you should then wait until day 10, let them take it to resolution, provide evidence of sending and receipt and receive your money. You're causing the entire issue here by attempting to go around the system that is in place to protect both buyer AND vendor.

And no, 'finalise' is not in itself a "dirty word", however asking a buyer to finalise before they have received their product does give it dirty connotations.

Blah, im done with this. Never pressured anyone. Good job support

Don't you have some threads to lock and move libertas?

You asked a buyer to finalise when they had not yet received their package, InfiniteSource, and have caused this 'mountain out of a molehill' by your responses above. Appreciate the kind words though - you're a gent.

Regarding locking and moving threads, if you see any that need doing, please do let me know. Good man. ;)

Hi Scout/Libertas,

Have you received word on my situation as yet?

Thank you

Hi Laissez-Faire,

I haven't personally heard anything on the issue; not sure if scout has heard anything back yet but I'm sure he will post here when he's on to let you know.

Hey op, went ahead and marked it "never received." I don't need this drama, or the brow beating im about to get for telling you to "FE." im out $120 but hey, fuck the vendor am I right? So glad I make sure and use tracking on all my packages.

I would appreciate it, if you left me a 5. If the product does arrive, don't even worry about it. I would reship, but I am totally sold out.

"im out $120 but hey, fuck the vendor am I right?" - if you had evidence to support delivery of the product then you were free to provide that to the administrator overseeing the resolution and they would have made their decision on it. Don't make this about the buyer, they are playing by the rules here.

streetelitist, don't ever let a vendor attempt to force you into finalising. For future orders, if you have not received it within 10 days, you should hit the 'resolve' button:

My order hasn't arrived or it's not what I expected.

If your order hasn't come after waiting 10 days, you should click "resolve" next to it on your orders page. This will put the order into resolution. Read all of the instructions in the Resolution Center, and try to come to an agreeable resolution with your vendor.

Customer support / Re: empty box....what do i do
« on: May 15, 2013, 08:35 am »
and i cant go into resolution for 2 more days

That's no problem; once the 'resolution' button becomes available, click on it and state your case in the box provided. Clicking 'resolve' automatically extends the time-frame for delivery by 5 days, and Support are currently backlogged (http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=159668.0), but your case WILL be dealt with when it is seen.

If you wish, you can let the vendor know that you'll be taking the issue to resolution and can ignore any direct communication from the vendor from here on out - please keep all discussion on this issue inside the resolution center.

EDIT: Locking as clear direction has been given to resolve the issue.

I have made a mistake. I believe I haven't blurred transactions carefully enough with regards to purchasing BTC and sending them to silk road anonymously. My own fault, have done some more reading and can hopefully rectify this.

However, in Account -> Account History I can see all the withdrawals and deposits - including the addresses - of all my SR BTC transactions (buyer only) that can most likely be linked with my real name.

Will these be kept visible permanently, or is there a way to acknowledge the transactions and clear / delete them from your account for extra security?

It's a bit early in the morning so I maybe haven't thought this through correctly, am I being overly paranoid or would the removal of the visible history make no difference regardless?

Thank you

Silk Road has a built in tumbler which helps to anonymise all payments. That's enough to ensure relative safety, but consider using an external tumbler in future to help break the chain that links your Bitcoin to you.

Tumbler

Just when you thought Silk Road couldn't be more secure, we went one step further. The tumbler sends all payments through a complex, semi-random series of dummy transactions, each with a new, one-use receiving address, making it nearly impossible to link your payment with any coins leaving the site. The quantity, frequency, and number of transactions are all varied chaotically in a way that mimics the transactions of the Bitcoin economy as a whole.

You should be just fine, don't worry! :)

Newbie discussion / Re: FE
« on: May 15, 2013, 08:14 am »
Admittedly I'm new here. (Which should be obvious, as I'm posting in the newbie discussion) LOL

But, if I understand it correctly, the escrow system is designed to deliver half and half to the two participants, in the event of a dispute, correct? Or is it based on the number of complaints from buyers, which are weighted in some way based on their history?

That is, in the event of a FAILURE to FE, the buyer gets back half of their BTC, and the seller still receives half as well?

Or am I not understanding something here?

Hi Torigible,

Please read the Buyer's Guide and F.A.Q. on the SR Wiki, specifically:

How are resolutions decided

If you cannot agree on a resolution, a Silk Road admin with review your case and choose a fair resolution. The reviewer carefully weighs the evidence and statements provided and the relative reputations of the parties involved. If one party does not propose any resolution by the due date, the most recent resolution provided by the present party will always be chosen. In this case, any refund granted will not be counted for buyer refund statistics.

You should also take a look at the ordering process:

im new can ya tell?
anyway, ive tried to place an order, all flowed well until my bitcoins left my wallet, but havent turned up in my SR account..
i followed suggestions to transfer into the given bitcoin address, but this time it hasnt worked...
its been alot longer than any other time ive used the site.
are things running slow?
have i fallen victim to the phishers?
is there a way to check?

smile fuckers! xo

Hi shmeghead,

Please follow dirtybiscuitzz718's instructions above (thanks, dirtybiscuitzz718), and read the following on the SR Wiki:

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Frequently_Asked_Questions#Why_isn.27t_my_deposit_showing_up_in_my_account.3F
Quote
Why isn't my deposit showing up in my account?

It can take up to 6 hours for a deposit to be confirmed on the blockchain, processed, and credited to your Silk Road account. If your deposit still hasn't shown up, first check that it is showing up on the blockchain by searching for your deposit address on a site like blockchain.info. If your transfer doesn't appear here, then it was never sent and you need to find out why from the person or organization who initiated the transfer. If the transfer does appear, then there could be a problem on our end and you should contact us.

Actually, I clarified this with DPR and inigo last month.  You ARE permitted to buy/sell a vendor account.  Not sure how safe or smart that would be, but it is permitted.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, scout! Things have changed since back in the day!! For anyone interested in doing this though, Silk Road vendor accounts are essentially free as the $500 bond is refundable when you meet the terms of the bond!

Off topic / Re: Would you like to see Litecoin on SR?
« on: May 15, 2013, 06:58 am »
Litecoin being accepted on Silk Road would make me significantly wealthier, but I do not think it is ever going to happen as there is absolutely no need for it due to the divisibility of Bitcoin.

If you don't believe it will EVER happen and there is NO use for it then why are you so heavily invested?

Also, no one has come and posted how adding litecoin will negatively affect the current state of things on Silk Road.

Silk Road is not a pre-requisite for the successful take-off of a crypto-currency. I'm heavily invested in Bitcoin for the long term - I keep the majority of my Bitcoin in a cold storage savings wallet. Litecoin is something I like to play around with on the market, hence my 35% Litecoin holdings. I guess you could say I view Litecoin as my 'play money', something which MAY make me wealthy, and Bitcoin as my retirement fund, something which I believe WILL make me wealthy.

Adding Litecoin doesn't have to negatively affects the current state of affairs on Silk Road for it not to be considered as a possible payment option - it simply offers no added benefits here due to the divisibility of Bitcoin.

Thanks for advice guys and yes, I have a vendor account...

Have just started to receive orders and hope to share some really decent product (all my own work) at a reasonable price with the SR

I agree proof is in the pudding so will try to do business with integrity and provide what people would like...

I always treat as I wish to be treated :)

Thanks again

Great, glad to hear it! Best of luck with your new store! Perhaps consider placing your vendor link in your signature so as people can find you more easily? :)
