Silk Road discussion / Re: Vendor question
« on: May 16, 2013, 07:07 pm »
No he always shipped super fast.  But since these are injectable steroids (I haven't started using them yet), I am just a bit cautious.  Plus, I had a question about his shipment and needed som info.  There hasn't been anything to indicate he is scamming.  The vendor has ALWAYS been polite and very fast in shipping.

Still, fake steroids take time to discover.  If you start a cycle on most products, it might be 3 or 4 weeks before you notice they are not real.  Unless it is tainted...then that could be a quick and serious problem.

The vendor was new...only 2 months.  But his feedback and knowledge is tops.  So when he left suddenly it raised a red flag.  Hopefully he is just taking a break.

Hmm.. I can't really comment on that either way as I've never used injectable steroids myself, but if you have doubt as to their authenticity then I would recommend not using them. Is it worth the damage that could be done if they are fake / tainted?

There are a large number of reasons why someone might close up their store - it could literally be anything! Just please be careful!

As others have stated, do not FE, ever! Always stay within the safety of the escrow system!

Customer support / Re: My vendor account was phished
« on: May 16, 2013, 06:58 pm »
My new vendor account was phished. I have had that account for a month while setting
it up and never made any transactions.I looked up the sr address after upgrading tor and entered my details, passphrase, and pin. I am now locked out of my account. This was my fault but I need assistance or it's the end of my road. I'm worried about the bond I posted to upgrade
to a vendor account as the 6 weeks is coming up I can determine the last wallet
address funds were sent from and I messaged support from an old account.
Do I need to make a new account and message support again?
NorcalDeltaNine

Hi yucatansunset,

Yes, please make a new account and message Vendor Support letting them know in the title that your account has been phished, and providing any information necessary to restore access to your account.

Silk Road will NEVER ask you for your PIN, and the ONLY site that you should be entering your login details is silkroadvb5piz3r.onion
You need to memorise that!

Furthermore, your profile stats are as follows:
Quote
has been a vendor for 19 days
was last seen: 2 days ago
has 0% positive feedback

You need to fulfill the following terms in order to receive the bond refund:

A vendor that I recently purchased from is in stealth mode and also the word closed is where his info used to be.  Is this account permanently closed or is it just a way for people to take a break?  It makes me a little nervous because I bought some injection steroids and am now worried it could have been a scam.

Here is the vendor link:

Hi fourthDVD,

This means that the vendor has decided to either take a break, or shut up shop. His vending privileges have not been removed, so it is not likely he has been scamming. Is the order that you made still in escrow?

SR Support ... you should be able to search for that user on SR and a link will come up to message them.

ik this prolly a dumb question but last time that account has logged on was a month ago.. does that matter for them?

No, the login date does not matter. The Support staff will still see your messages.

I'm planning on reporting the vendor Pillsfast AKA Dr Pill. I ordered some dex from him, and because it was the beginning of finals week and I'd put off procuring anything until the last minute, I was forced to pay for overnight shipping. It's expensive, but I'm desperate and a good grade is worth more than $30. As of now, my order has been sitting in processing for three days, well after the guaranteed 48 hour arrival time. I would normally be okay with just going to resolution, however this happened to me ordering from Dr Pill. This person claims to have ironed out their shipping problems, but I see no evidence of that.
If I do report, what happens? I assume it's similar to the resolution process?

Unfortunately it won't matter if you report it - the vendor is not breaking any Silk Road policies, so nothing can be done. You can consider taking it to resolution and requesting a % refund (to the value of the Express shipping) to compensate you for it, and I would think you would get it, but you would also increase the refund rate on your purchasing stats.

The % amount that shows up on your stats may surprise you if this does happen, so please see the SR Wiki entry about stats here:

Libertas, I have a question for you.  What do you do if you are a newbie, and since your purchase count is so low a vendor's policy is to FE early.  I understand under no circumstances your not suppose to FE early, but most Vendors ask that of us?  So what do you do?  I have barely made 4 purchases since I keep running in to this issue?  It says on the wiki that we are suppose to "Report" the vendor if this is the case.  I would be reporting every other vendor then.  It's dambed if you do dambed if you don't.  So, how is SR enforcing the policy??  Please help us "Noobs"out here.  I specifically came here to be anonymously safe, find product needed, and NOT be scammed.

I'm an individual that wants to play be the guidelines/rules of this Forum....

I also posted this in another message, I wasn't sure if you would see it....

Hi sclerogal,

Silk Road is a free-market based marketplace. As a result, vendors are free to set their own policies regarding how and with whom they do business, as long as they do not violate the terms of the seller contract that they agree to abide by upon becoming a vendor.

There is nothing you can do if your vendor requires people with a certain transaction level to FE. Once they have reached 35+ transactions, and have been a vendor for one month or more, they are entitled to ask buyers to FE if they wish to do so.

I'm glad to see you've read the Wiki; however, it does not state to report the vendor for requesting that buyers FE:

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Buyer%27s_Guide#Escrow
Quote
NEVER go around the escrow and pay a vendor directly. We will be totally unable to protect you in this event and the vendor will have much less motivation to serve you well. People HAVE been scammed this way. If a seller requests that you pay them directly, please let us know so we can address the situation.

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Buyer%27s_Guide#Payment
Quote
NOTICE: If your seller instructs you to pay directly, outside of the escrow system, or with any other method than through the site checkout system, you should report it immediately to our support staff via the "report vendor" link along with any evidence you can provide. If you do pay your seller directly, there will be no way for us to protect you from fraud.

What the above refer to is sending the vendor BTC directly to their username rather than through the site checkout and escrow system. All orders placed with the "place order" button are automatically placed in escrow. When you FE, you willfully leave the safety of that and are left completely unprotected.

Silk Road enforces the policy of 'no direct payments' by immediately stripping a vendor of their vending privileges if they are found to be in breach of that policy.
As far as FE is concerned, there are many vendors that accept new members but do not require them to leave the safety of escrow until their order has arrived and they are fully satisfied with it.

Regardless of what any vendor may ask you to do, Silk Road recommends that you never, ever FE. I hope that I've sufficiently answered your questions but if not, just let me know and I can clarify. :)

Silk Road discussion / Re: How to sell vendor account
« on: May 16, 2013, 04:49 pm »
From what inigo and DPR said, it has actually always been permitted by them.  I didn't think it was because I remember past moderators telling people it was prohibited to sell vendor accounts ... so I used to say that as well until I finally clarified with inigo / DPR and was told it was never prohibited.

Thanks for the clarification, scout! Though I could've sworn I read in the original Seller's contract back in early 2012 that sale of SR accounts was not permitted.. Hmmm.. Maybe I'm just getting too old!! :-X

1347
To clarify - this has never been against the rules.  Past moderators were incorrect on this, and that lead the rest of us to think it was prohibited as well, but upon clarification from DPR and inigo, it has apparently always been allowed.

If you're a vendor here who can set up a listing and accept escrow I'd like to buy a western union transfer today.

I'm not trying to sell anything, I'm trying to buy a western union transfer.

Thanks

Your other thread (http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=160500.msg1134158#msg1134158) was locked for the reasons outlined in it. This is no different.

If you are looking to buy a Western Union transfer for Bitcoin, then you are looking to sell Bitcoin for it. Sales / purchases can NOT be conducted through the forum.

Check the main site to see if any vendors are currently offering this service. Please read the following before you do:

Rumor mill / Re: Vendor ETIZOLAM has died.
« on: May 16, 2013, 04:14 pm »
I was wondering where he has been - it is very unlike him to be offline for so long. I've known him for a few years and while he could be a bit of a mess at times, he was a good friend to many. I will miss him.

He passed away almost a month ago to this day from an overdose. I noticed a lot of speculation and activity on his vendor page regarding his unshipped orders and I thought I would clear things up for anyone who was wondering what happened.

Can you offer any proof of this to Vendor Support / SR Support? I don't mean to sound insensitive in any way, but if this is true then any information you can provide may help any buyers that have been left in the lurch as a result.

Last wednesday I ordered a product from the seller The Top Shelf, he was very highly rated and had been on SR for a reasonable amount of time, I was ordering weed, so I asked if I could have two of his strands and he kindly obliged saying that I could, but he replied that due to the listings that I would need to finalize early. I wasn't sketched out by this, I have finalized early before and everything was fine. But now, I am becoming very unnerved, I spent practically all of my money to my name on this order and it's been over a week and the product has not arrived, but even more sketchy, is that the seller The Top Shelf has seemed to disappear off of SR and I've repeatedly messaged him, receiving absolutely no response. If anybody has been in a situation like this before or has dealt with The Top Shelf before, please help me out.

The Top Shelf has had their vending privileges revoked for scamming users. They will not be coming back.
Sorry to hear that you got burned, but you know the risk you are taking when you FE.

Please read the following:

Never, ever FE. Finalising means what it sounds like it means: that the transaction has been concluded and both parties are satisfied. Silk Road cannot protect you when you decide to go around the safety that the escrow system provides.
