Thread moved to the Security forum as it is not a Silk Road technical support issue.

I have answered your thread about this in the Customer Support forum here:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=160970.msg1141776#msg1141776

I Got this email saying my vendor account is suspended. I ahve never asked anyone to FE or ripped anyone off and have a 100% rating. This is bullshit. The letter I got.
Vendor Support    Dear marthastewart,

We appologize in advance if this action has been made in error. Your account is under investigation for violation of your agreement as an independent seller at Silk Road. You are not being accused of anything, but your account has been suspended until further notice. If you have any questions or concerns, please reply to this message. Thank you for your patience with this.

Best regards,
Silk Road staff

You recently allowed your Silk Road account to be compromised by entering your login details at a phishing site, or allowing a keylogger to operate on your system. By doing this, and not employing proper security measures, you put your buyers details and funds at risk. In my opinion, that alone puts you in breach of the Seller contract that you agreed to abide by upon purchasing vending privileges; one of the 7 points in the Seller contract is the following:

Quote
Treat your customers with respect. Go above and beyond for them.

You showed reckless disregard for your customers and demonstrated absolutely no respect for their safety by allowing your account to be phished. I would imagine any buyers that had their details compromised would also be"SUPER UPSET".

The reason that Silk Road has suspended your account is in order to investigate the issue that occurred; it's right there in black and white in the message you received. ???

This is something that will have to be taken up with Vendor Support in any event; we can't do anything for you here as we have no administrative access to the main site. However, please note that if you are found to have breached the terms of your agreement, your vending privileges will not be reinstated.

Customer support / Re: Account Hijacked
« on: May 18, 2013, 07:21 pm »
My SR account has been hijacked, I have very little in available btc, but I had some orders processing and in transit. What I would like to know is if the hijacker can cancel my orders without my pin? I have already contacted support and msg the vendors I have ordered from.

Hi e55drop,

It is VERY unlikely that your Silk Road account has been 'hijacked'; you have most likely been the victim of phishing. The people in control of your account have cancelled your orders in order for the Bitcoin held in escrow to be returned so as they can then withdraw it.

Please see the Silk Road Wiki page on this here:

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Trust_and_phishing

The ONLY site you should be logging in to is silkroadvb5piz3r.onion
There are NO other Silk Road login sites. Silk Road will NEVER ask you for PIN, except when you are making an order on the 'Shopping Cart' page.

If you feel that you have not been phished, please thoroughly check your system for keyloggers, dataloggers and rootkits.

Customer support / Re: Forgot username after making deposit
« on: May 18, 2013, 07:16 pm »
Hey guys,

I'm looking for advice here.
I've been hearing about bitcoins a lot recently (my PC's GPU was almost melted from a bitcoin mining virus)

Anyways, upon hearing about silkroad I took the plunge; bought a bitcoin, made an account here and quickly deposited it into my account.
After waiting a few hours without the balance updating, I headed to sleep, I woke up the next day remembering that I had forgotten the username for my Silkroad account with the 1btc.

I do know the passphrase/pin, and know that the username is similar to the one I'm using here. But besides that I have no way of finding the username.
Bitcoins are rather expensive; so it's very disappointing losing one in such a silly manner.

Is there absolutely no way to retrieve my username? Could an admin perhaps check registration logs for the main site and see which users registered last night with the world "Apple" somewhere in it?

(I've opened a support ticket where I gave the admins the address I deposited the bitcoin to, hopefully they may be able to find my account through that)

Hi applecore3,

As this is such a rare issue, I am not aware of any other process to resolve this other than what you have done already. It shouldn't be too hard to find your username, though I'm not 100% how the member-list is saved. All you can do is wait to hear back from SR Support (please see DPR's thread on Support Delays here: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=159668.0) and if they need any further information they will ask you for it.

EDIT: Thread locked as resolved.

« on: May 18, 2013, 10:43 am »
Hi. I've been lurking here for a few months, and made a few purchases.

But now I'm getting asked for my history by a vendor, and I go and check it, and, sure nuff, it is blank except for my very latest.

What's up with that?

Hi freddy30,

Account history is automatically removed after ~2 months for security purposes.

Is it made public when a vendor account is sold, or is this down to the vendors in question?

It is up to the vendors in question to announce the sale or transfer of a vendor account.

Rumor mill / Re: TheTopShelf Reveiw Thread
« on: May 18, 2013, 09:03 am »
I'm really sorry to hear that so many people got scammed by this vendor.  That really bites.  I want to clarify however that while I very much appreciate Festivalia's props to my character, I do not ask anyone to FE. This is my statement from my SR vendor page (unchanged since I began vending):

"PLEASE DO NOT FINALIZE EARLY.  As a buyer, I have been scammed by vendors who asked for early finalization, and as a vendor I can wait for payment until after you have received your product.  The escrow system is designed to protect protect both of our investments.  Let's use it. However, you must finalize as soon as your order arrives and you have tested it.  I can't restock if I don't get paid.  If you don't finalize after receiving your order, I will not sell to you again.  If you have a high auto-finalize rate, I will not be able to sell to you."

I agree 100% with uniwiz that, as a community, we should boycott vendors who require FE, and that as long as we continue to do business with them, requiring FE will continue to be an accepted practice.  As a buyer, I do not FE (having learned my lesson the hard way), and while I'm no CN  :)) as a vendor I won't ask you to FE either, whether you have 100 transactions or none at all.

Z

I just wanted to pop in here and say kudos to you for your stance on FE, BajoZero. :) +1

I FE'd to bcpltd but he seems legit, sorry to hear about you getting scammed.

All vendors that are going to pull a scam seem legit, boneeater. ??? Never, ever FE. We can do nothing to help you once you leave the protection of the escrow system.

EDIT: Thread unlocked. Member has agreed not to ask people to contact them off-site regarding the above.

« on: May 18, 2013, 07:27 am »
Thanks for some more information on The Top Shelf. The FE was against my better judgement, the price was so good and was only thinking about profit. Needless to say, that was my first and last FE! The only thing that bothers me was he had really good feedback and had been around for a while. Goes to show you, dont trust anyone unless you can take a loss worse case scenario. Luckily for me, this is just used for extra income and i have a real job.  I literally learn everything the hard way, but it only takes once. #KCCO

TheGreenGuy

Very sorry to hear you lost money to The Top Shelf, but sometimes learning things the hard way is the best way to learn them; it ensures you never forget!

Stay inside escrow on your future purchases though. Finalising Early is NEVER worth it!

« on: May 18, 2013, 06:58 am »
Sorry guys and gals. We are so busy we dont have the time to deal with people who are new to SR and dont understand how it works. When you have spent $1000 on SR we will be more than happy to fill your orders.

Thanks for understanding,

C

Fully understandable, Costco. Kudos for coming here and explaining the issue!
