Customer support / Re: Bitcoins disappeared from SR wallet?
« on: May 21, 2013, 12:02 am »
Yes, that is unfortunately what has happened. :(

Please make sure that you change your passphrase and PIN asap, and never log in to any other site except the real URL. Silk Road will NEVER ask you for your PIN.

silkroadvb5piz3r.onion

You need to memorise the real URL. Sorry again to hear you've been burned by these scumbags. :(

Locking as resolved.

I have an address for PeoplesDrugStore, if anyone got burned by him :P

Newbie discussion / Re: TOR ????
« on: May 20, 2013, 11:50 pm »
Libertas - Just a thought, it's not best practise to leave anything in your torbrowsrer, like bookmarks, plugins, etc. If you are comfy with the risk, that's cool, but others should be aware, this is not the safest way of doing things.

I would agree in principle, WeBeWeedGirls, however, your entire Tor Browser Bundle should be stored in an encrypted file in the first place. It's not illegal to use Tor, but why leave anything to chance? If the entire Tor Browser Bundle is in an encrypted file which you mount any time you use it, keeping bookmarks or any other information becomes a non-issue.

The safest way of doing things is to use TAILS, but unfortunately most people aren't willing to spend the 10 minutes or so to set it up.

I just made 2 deposits, one for 1.507 BTC and another for 0.1613 BTC - 1.6683 BTC total.

0.1613 BTC entered my SR wallet and as I waited for the other to arrive, the first one disappeared.

I have checked on blockchain that they were both successful, and they were.

Quote
No. Transactions   2
Total Received   1.6683 BTC
Final Balance   1.6683 BTC

I was expecting my wallet balance to change, but not decrease once bitcoin are already there. Has anyone got an explanation for this?

Hi thegames1,

Did you see the Bitcoin in your account when you were logged in to the main site or are you just going on what you see on blockchain.info?

Moneypak is also available for more instant transactions.
My torchat is: [REDACTED] (best way to reach me, as I don't keep Tor Browser open all the time).

You may not ask customers to contact you off-site for transactions. Doing so violates the Seller Contract which you agreed to abide by upon purchasing vending privileges. ALL transactions must go through the Silk Road ordering system.

Nope I had just transferred and the system shutdown before I got a chance. How do I contact SR support?

Hi yakuza,

You can contact SR Support by clicking the 'support' link in the bottom right hand corner of any page on the main site, though I'm not 100% sure if they'll be able to help you in this instance:

Please also see DPR's thread regarding Support delays:

The only reason it seems so amazing is that we have been conditioned to believe a completely free market could/should never exist

Well said, AscendedAwakening! +1

Howdy folks nice to be here.  Thanks for existing!

Hi bananapretzel,

Welcome to the community! :)

Please read all of the pages on the SR Wiki if you haven't done so already as they contain vital information that you'll need to know to keep yourself (and your money!) safe here:

For one example, I would think that if the 50 post limit were imposed on all accounts that were less than 30 days old, that would have solved the problem w/o penalizing everybody. Anyway, I think I'll go to the spam thread and build up my post count.....

Hi LittleEddy,

That seems like a good idea in theory, however the spammers would simply register a number of accounts every day and when they reach 30 days old (or however long we make it) they would be able to spam in every forum without issue, completely negating the need to have a Newbie forum in the first place.

Newbie discussion / Re: TOR ????
« on: May 20, 2013, 11:01 pm »
Im new to using the SR, and TOR.  Im quite sure, that like all browsers, TOR needs updating every so often.  Even on  the drop down menu on the "onion" button at the top of the TOR browser, there is a link you can click on that says "Download TOR browser bundle update".  The only thing is, when I click on that, it just takes me to where I origionally downloaded the TOR browser bundle, and says nothing about an update.  Am I doing something wrong, or does it look like this all the time?

As zenthor mentioned above, https://check.torproject.org should tell you if you're using the latest update or not. You may have to delete the previous version of Tor if you simply extracted the updated version to the previously existing folder.

To do this, make sure you backup any bookmarks you have as they will be deleted:
Bookmark button -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Backup...

Go to torproject.org and download the latest version of Tor. Securely delete the previous Tor folder. Double click the new Tor download and extract it to a folder of your choice. Start it up once that's all finished and then restore your bookmarks.
Bookmark button -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Restore -> Choose File...

That will resolve the problem (if there's a problem in the first place!)

I may have made a mistake filling out the blue form by not writing the actual btc addres that the payment was supposed to go to, maybe I'm just being paranoid lol. I'm probably just overthinking it but I'm right in my thinking that you don't include the btc address on the payment sheet for Bitinstant. Sorry for taking up room with this question but it may help out others curious in the future as well

I have no experience with Bitinstant, but please see the following SR Wiki entry:

Managed to get in after all! Turns out that when I changed the password there must've been a typo. Took a bunch of tries but I managed to get in.

Thanks for the help.

Excellent, glad you're back in! And kudos on the strong password!

Customer support / Re: My pending resolution case with a vendor
« on: May 20, 2013, 10:27 pm »
Hello,

The vendor I did business with has NOT logged in for 7 straight days now and my case is currently 2 days in via open resolution and no sign of him/her. Do I really have to wait 4 more days to get my refund? It is obvious that something has happened to this vendor and my coins are just sitting there. Today marks as the 12th day since the product which he/she marked in transit. I believe a few other customers are experiencing the same issue with this vendor. I strongly believe he/she NEVER even sent out my package. Last time I did business with the same vendor he/she sent me a confirmation PM that my order has shipped and if possible for me to FE which of course I did not since I ordered via priority and 2-3 is not much of a wait. This time around I never got a such email. A few weeks ago he/she claimed (vendor home page) that someone is trying to blackmailing him/her so I can't imagine what this person must be going through. I also believe that this person is trying to raise money via refund scam which I will not settle for anything less that 100% just on the principle of poor customer service. One should NOT just turn their back  for 7 days straight after processing orders. Something obviously went wrong this this vendor. I can only hope he/she recovers from it but I should NOT be penalized over it. I just want my coins back so I can spend them who gives a damn.

Hi blster666,

Orders are automatically extended by 5 days when a buyer puts them into resolution. If the vendor does not respond with a counter-resolution by the time it is due to be seen by an administrator then you will receive a 100% refund, which will not affect your refund stats.

Anything customer service can help me with? I just purchased £100 worth of btc and as soon as the vendor transferred it to me it was withdrawn from my account. http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=161278.0

that is the discussion I started when this was happening

http://silkroaddrugs.wordpress.com/

that is the website that tricked me, any way to find the btc?

Hi JJRocks77,

Very sorry to hear that you were a victim of phishing.

I'm afraid that as Bitcoin transfers are irreversible, there is no way for you to get your Bitcoin back.

Please make sure that you have changed your passphrase and PIN, and that you memorise the correct URL:
