Newbie discussion / Re: What does "Stealth mode" means?
« on: May 28, 2013, 12:50 am »
From the SR Seller's Guide:

Stealth mode allows you to run your business out of view of the general public. Whether your sales are growing faster than you can expand your infrustructure to keep up, or you just don't want to be in the public eye any more and are happy with the size of your current customer base, stealth mode might by the solution for you. When activated, your listings will no longer appear in public searches, category views, or any pages linked to from the public site. However, your user and item pages will still be available when accessed directly, so your regular customers can still make purchases from you. You may activate stealth mode from your settings page. Note: It can take up to an hour for your listings to go stealth because of caching.

Thank you, ThisIsPermanent! +1

Just to add to scout's post above, a refund received in the case where a vendor has been stripped of their vending privileges will not affect your refund rate.

When one finalizes an order from SR, they are presented with the 'Leave Feedback' pane for that particular order, if one does not enter this feedback (1-5 rating and comments) will that affect the vendors rating in any way? ie: Will the vendor have +1 transaction added to their account even without feedback for the order existing?

As far as I am aware, no, the feedback and rating does not get added to the vendor's feedback score until you hit the 'submit' button.

Pretty sure this vendor is ImportConnection, as he sent me the same thing.  Since he has already been confirmed a scammer and had vendor status revoked (and we didn't FE!), I trust we'll be getting our refund, though I'm not entirely sure how the process works, if we have to wait for resolution or if it affects our stats, etc.

You guessed it mate. Is there any way to get this to resolution any quicker? or do i have to wait until it goes to resolution center.
You have a good nose Libertas.
Thank you all for the help so far.

You'll have to wait until the resolution button becomes available, I'm afraid. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience but very glad to hear you stayed in escrow! :)

Newbie discussion / Re: high supply has gone mia
« on: May 27, 2013, 08:36 pm »
havent been able to find anything about this recent vendor going MIA so here it is recently in the past week he took down all his active listings and have left myself and a few other customers hanging on orders ( its been 17 days no show but fingers crossed its just a slow delivery ) but judging from reports he has gone awol and he hasnt been on in the past 2 weeks. once a great vendor but now has done a runner  :( and since i dont have 50 posts i have to post this in the noob section !

Hi anxiousmind,

I cannot find any vendor called "high times", nor "hightimes". If that was their name then that vendor has been stripped of their vending privileges. If you are still in escrow, hit the resolution button and request a 100% refund. Refunds given in instances where a vendor has been stripped of their vending privileges do not affect your purchasing stats.

If you FE'd then there is unfortunately nothing that can be done - the escrow system is there for your protection, and Silk Road advises all customers never to FE.

oooooner, please stop posting your threads in the incorrect forums. There is a description below each forum that describes what should be posted in it.

This is a product offer, therefore it belongs in the Product offers forum.

Thread moved.

Off topic / Re: google caching forum via onion.to

is their a way to stop it happening ?

The forum could be configured so you need an account to read posts, but what does it matter? Anyone who wants to read the posts can create an account. It's a public forum. Let the Google index be a sharp reminder of that. :)

^ This, 100%! +1

Silk Road discussion / Re: Captchas on SR.
« on: May 27, 2013, 08:13 pm »
The 3 number captcha has been happening since like a year ago.  There was a phase when people and I would constantly get logged off automatically and the 3 number captcha would come out a few times till the working one came out.

Actually I've been getting logged off recently for first time in a long time this past month.

I'm aware of that, but that issue was resolved. The current 3 digit captcha issue is a result of site hardening measures.

Libertas

Clearly can see it's an awesomely implemented secure measure, from what I saw; the 3 digit captcha is just to make you reload with a new identity and reload the page with a normal looking and trippy captcha appearing.
A brilliant idea, only SR can come out with subtle hardened security measure, protecting Us.

It occurred as a result of measures implemented during site hardening, the fact that it is not in itself a security feature made obvious by my use of the words "issue" and "a result of".

I'm a bit curious about this. Since I believe sites like silkroad is making the foundations of bitcoin trade. Therefore I would like to be able to buy legal stuff with my bitcoins to, so that this currency will grow strong among regular retailers.

I believe this will help anonymize the vendors here on silkroad if bitcoin becomes something that is used to buy and sell all kinds of stuff.

So do anyone know sites that sell cool things for bitcoins?

You can find a comprehensive list of the places that accept Bitcoin here:

These accounts have the same owner:    DrugsAndCash,  danknugsdun, starlight,  BioCanna, butch1200, Diamonddweller,  Yavanor, Iamapoorboytoo

Can you provide evidence of this?

Glad to know it counts towards the final score still, that is the most important thing.

Still would be nice to still see it under the vendor page feedback listing which shows the feedback for all listings.

I agree, it would be good to have all feedback remain regardless of whether the listing is active or deleted. Perhaps consider starting a thread in the Feature Requests forum and see if others would be interested in lending their voices to it?

Ok So Ive currently going through a resolution right now where I was sent some Bunk/Fake Product(First time this has ever happened) and going through this I have noticed a few things.

This Vendor has mostly good feedback on all other products, The product in question(crack) was a new listing a new product for this vendor, he has never sold this before.

While after mine shows and I try it and find out I cant even use it I go on to message vendor and check for other feedback on this product.
At this time there was only 2 other feedback  1 was "Just received but can't sample yet will update once I try it". and  1 more that said nothing at all but was a 3 out of 5. (I thought this was strange).

Anyways while trying to message vendor to work something out (He just strated ignoring me once I explained what was going on)  This vendor Took down his listings and I noticed that the feedback dissapeared from his Vendor page as well!!

Now I had orded 2.25 grams so it was 2 seperate orders I had to put in resolution. The .25g order He never even responded so I got 100% right away and  when I went to post feedback I gave a 1 out of 5 and wrote an apporpriate review. Of course because there is no listing This feedback is no where to be seen on the vendor page, and His score never budged.

So My question is If a Vendor wants to scam can He just set up a listing and just scam people on that listing and then after awhile remove listing and all the bad feedback vanishes?? and will His Score be inflated because of all the vanished negative feedback as well?
Im almost positive the first one is true for sure since Ive  seen it twice with my own eyes.

Can anyone who knows answer this? I really think this loop hole needs to be looked into to.

Thanks alot

Feedback does not show for a listing that has been removed (as there is no need for the feedback due to that particular item no longer being available), however the scores (3/5, 1/5, 5/5 etc.) that are racked up under that listing do indeed contribute to the vendor's feedback score. Keep in mind that anything less than 5/5 is negative feedback, so anything less than 5/5 will negatively impact a vendor's overall feedback score.

How much your 1/5 will affect a vendor's score is calculated by taking a number of factors into consideration; these are:

How active a buyer is in rating other vendors (buyer activity weight)
    The age of the rating
    The price of the transaction

You can see the formula for how the buyer activity weight is calculated here:
