Off topic / Re: liberty reserve busted what next for btc
« on: May 29, 2013, 02:15 pm »
I see that liberty reserve was shut down, and the authorities  have filed against another crypto currency. will sr convert to lit coins or another alternative

Liberty Reserve was not a crypto-currency, it was a virtual currency. Bitcoin is a P2P crypto-currency, and cannot be "shut down" by any authority.

Why would Silk Road decide to use Litecoin or any other crypto-currency when we have Bitcoin..? ???

Customer support / Re: Witdrawl to my SR deposit adress
« on: May 29, 2013, 02:11 pm »
Greetings! I did a mistake after transferring bit coins from my wallet to my SR bitcoin address/account, I Withdrawal the coins to the same SR deposit address, is the network now using unnecessary hours working to confirm payment to the same btc address? Is there a way to cancel the process?

Thanks for help.

Hi headspace,

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible by design, so there is no way to cancel them. However, your Bitcoin should arrive back into your account within the next few hours. If they do not arrive within 24 hours, you can contact SR Support by clicking the 'support' link in the bottom right corner of any page on Silk Road.

The patch will of course need to be peer reviewed by a trusted hacker before putting it on here, if the admins allow it, maybe even get it included in SMF officially.

Nobody can be trusted with the security of the forums or the site, apart from DPR.

it went through resolution before they were stripped of vendor status. it was that one vendor that pretended to be two girls selling acid and they ended up sending printed paper. the username escapes me now. either way i don't care enough to pursue getting this fixed as it's only 0.03%

Then that's why it affected your refund rate, because they were still a vendor. Note that I said: "a refund received in the case where a vendor has been stripped of their vending privileges will not affect your refund rate."

Thread locked as OP has been given direction.

It is my understanding that the Silk Road staff can decide if a refund effects stats or not. If it is made clear that it was not you fault then you should be fine.

Another way would be if the vendor sent you the refund directly to your wallet.

I have written to the vendor suggesting he do just that, refund into my wallet.Funnily enough though still waiting on a reply.
What really bites me is that there is a few more days before resolution and i am only a couple of $ away from buying sum coke that i have been wanting to try.Guess i will have to deposit more btc,as i dont see this ending before resolution.

A vendor is not going to refund you before an order is finalised. ??? Take it to resolution when the option becomes available to you as I stated earlier.

Thread locked as resolved.

I was just sending BTC to my account today and it appears they changed it up a bit. It looks like you can't generate a new address but when you click to deposit it has one for you..  I guess maybe everyone gets their own specific to them and you can't change it. Is this a good thing?

Addresses are still changeable.

Please see the following section of the SR Wiki:

For user's making their first deposit and for users that haven't made a deposit in a while, your account page will have a link that says "Click here to make a deposit". The page that link leads to is where you will find your SR wallet bitcoin address. After your first deposit your address will be displayed right on the Account page itself, and beside it will be a button that will allow you to generate a new wallet address. We recommend using a new address for each deposit.

Hello, I was hacked and my password changed. My vendor account name is DivineMomentsTruth. It says I have logged in today, but I didn't.  If the password was changed today, then it was hacked. About two weeks ago someone on skype video chat had weird things happen. Taunted me, so I know she did it.  The girl I talked to on skype today tI need this account back, if your support team could help me I would be forever grateful. I was just about to launch big time, and now all of this happens. I have PM'd you on sr from one computer.

Please tell me what to do next.

Your account has been locked and your support ticket has been responded to.

i transferred 1.5 BTC to my SR account about an hour ago from localbitcoin wallet. How long does this process usually take?

Hi obey31,

Please read the SR Wiki entry here:

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Frequently_Asked_Questions#Why_isn.27t_my_deposit_showing_up_in_my_account.3F

Quote
Why isn't my deposit showing up in my account?

It can take up to 6 hours for a deposit to be confirmed on the blockchain, processed, and credited to your Silk Road account. If your deposit still hasn't shown up, first check that it is showing up on the blockchain by searching for your deposit address on a site like blockchain.info. If your transfer doesn't appear here, then it was never sent and you need to find out why from the person or organization who initiated the transfer. If the transfer does appear, then there could be a problem on our end and you should contact us.

That's brilliant thanks! I've never been to resolution before so I'm a reso newb! I have full confidence that an admin will make a rational decision.

You can read more about how the resolution process works here:

Newbie discussion / Re: Hello All
« on: May 28, 2013, 07:28 pm »
Thanks Libertas, missed your post yesterday but it came through shortly after that!

Made my first purchase but as per vendors guidance on ad have been asked to FE as under 3 ratings.  I know I'm probably not protected if I do so but they seem to have really good feedback.

Is that common practice for a noob?  In fairness it does state it on ad also.

ps: if ok how do you actually FE?

Silk Road recommends against buyers FE'ing under any circumstances, for any vendor, at any time. Once you leave the protection of the escrow system there will be absolutely nothing we can do to help you should something go wrong.

An order can be finalised once it's been marked 'in transit' by the vendor, but again, if you FE you are leaving yourself open to being burned.

Hey, I'm in the resolution centre with BigBill6778 because he shipped my cannabis oil to the wrong country. I ordered it for my friend who has cancer and the waiting time has caused harm to everyone involved. Bill will not accept a refund because he has convinced himself that I told him to ship to Australia when I'm from Europe.

So I've been stuck in resolution for 26 days because I gave him the benefit of the doubt (until he revealed yesterday that he sent it to the wrong continent!). There is 2 hours left on the resolution ticket and he will not accept a full refund for his mistake.

What happens once the resolution time goes to 0? Does an SR mediator come in or do the funds get released to the vendor?

Thanks

Once the resolution time goes to 0 an administrator will look at the case as soon as they are available and make their decision based on all of the evidence provided.

Customer support / Re: Resolution Review
« on: May 28, 2013, 07:24 pm »
Refund came through within an hour of being under review, but only received the Bitcoin value back, not the dollar amount. Oh well.

If the order is hedged, you receive the USD amount of the original order back in Bitcoin. If the order is unhedged, you simply receive back the Bitcoin that you paid.

Ah - when a vendor has not logged in for 72 hours their listings are taken down automatically. Given that the vendor hasn't logged in for 13 days and the last 5 reports are buyers stating that they did not receive anything, I would strongly recommend you take the order to resolution and request a 100% refund.

There are many reasons why vendors don't log in, but if your order hasn't arrived yet and others have reported the same thing, I think it's safe to assume that your product isn't coming.

been a blast.

I've already explained to you - numerous times and in clear, plain English - that members must delete their own posts if they wish to do so. If it is a thread starting post, you can edit it. I also told you that if you wish for more clarification or proof on this that you can message an admin, something you have obviously declined to do.

Thread locked as the initial issue has been resolved.

Unless you had an incredibly weak password and PIN (such as 123456789 etc.) then there is no way that your account was compromised by an attack or "hacked". The ONLY ways that your account could have been compromised is if you entered your login details (possibly including your PIN, which Silk Road will NEVER ask you for at login time) into a phishing site, or else allowed a keylogger / datalogger to be installed or downloaded onto your system.

Please make a new account and message Vendor Support letting them know in the title that your account has been phished, and providing any information necessary to restore access to your account.

Vendor Support:
http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/messages/send_message/8fe7b43324

Silk Road will NEVER ask you for your PIN, and the ONLY site that you should be entering your login details is silkroadvb5piz3r.onion
You need to memorise that!

There are a number of scam sites out there with "silkroad" in the URL that ask you for your PIN when you're logging in. The reason you can not log in to the site when you tried to is because the phishers have changed your passphrase to prevent you from having access to the account.

Every member is responsible for their own security; ensuring that you are visiting the correct Silk Road URL at all times and ensuring that there is no malware on your computer is basic, essential security practice.
