Newbie discussion / Re: COUNTERFIET 50 EURO NOTES

Email if interested

You have already been made aware that counterfeit currency is not permitted. Consider this your first and last warning: If you attempt to sell any items again without first purchasing a vendor account, your account will be deleted. Counterfeit currency is a restricted item and can not be listed even if you do purchase vending privileges.

Apologies for the edit to your post, Jack N Hoff - you posted as I merged the topics so I had to change the title of your post.

If counterfeit money is not allowed here then it's only a matter of time before someone else sets up shop that does allow it.

I agree, and the beauty of the free-market allows them to do that. However, DPR has decided not to permit counterfeit currency on the Silk Road marketplace; with Silk Road being a privately owned site, that is DPR's absolute right.

Which is a damn shame. All of that talk about "Silk Road not being about harming blahblahblah" - in the case of counterfeit currency, it's more about the justice department and SS crawling up our asses. Which is still understandable.

No, it's about not providing a platform for someone to defraud the very same people we're trying to help in our fight against government oppression. The most likely use of counterfeit currency is to purchase goods or services at small stores / from another regular person face-to-face. Those are not the entities that we want to be hurting.

That is just beyond pompous to just say "you agreed to these terms", while avoiding the actual question.

I did not just say "you agreed to these terms", whilst avoiding the actual question. I stated as part of the very same sentence that the commission on any given sale depends on the total Bitcoin price and is subject to change at any time; ergo it would not be prudent for me to discuss commission rates - they are set by DPR, and are subject to change at any time as stated in the Seller's Guide.

As stated in the Seller's Guide - the terms of which you agreed to be bound by upon becoming a vendor as part of the Seller Contract - the commission on any given sale depends on the total Bitcoin price and is subject to change at any time.

Quote from: Seller's Guide
Pricing and commission

You may peg the price of your listings to any of the currencies supported by Silk Road. All sales are settled in Bitcoins however, so if you peg to a currency other than Bitcoin, the final Bitcoin price of your item will fluctuate based on the exchange rate between Bitcoin and your peg currency.

You may also choose whether to set your price before or after commission is added. If you choose "pre-commission pricing", the price you set will be the amount of money you are paid when a transaction is complete, but your customers will see a higher price that includes the commission. If you choose "post-commission pricing", you set the price that your customers pay. When you get paid, the amount you receive will be less than this by the amount of the commission. The commission on any given sale depends on the total Bitcoin price and is subject to change at any time.

Security / Re: Best way to convert cash to BTC?
« on: July 08, 2013, 02:45 pm »
Ask a vendor that you've purchased from a few times if you can mail them cash. I imagine that vendors are stressing about how to change BTC into cash, so it kills 2 birds with one stone!

That is a ludicrous proposition and would most likely result in that vendor deciding never to do business again with any buyer that proposes it.

Customer support / Re: Clarification on Shipping Options
« on: July 08, 2013, 02:39 pm »
Shipping options are to be used for just that: shipping options. We do not charge commission on shipping as the vendor is not making money on packaging materials etc., so if vendors use the shipping options for any reason other than to cover the cost of packaging materials and postage (e.g. to get around paying commission) they will be stripped of their vending privileges without warning.

If there is ever a mistake please do pull up a mod or admin on it. I will absolutely not have the Silk Road forums a place where people are afraid to speak their minds.

Hey Libertas,

I've just now noticed that my Newbie sub-forum thread is not there anymore. It used to be at http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=108363.0 and was called "BlueGiraffe GHB Everything Thread".

I've looked for it via the link and via the search function (multiple times) and it has definitely been deleted - I get this message: "An Error Has Occurred! The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.".

This then explains why my post count dropped by 20 posts since last week (and that sounds about right for the number of posts I probably made on this thread). And I most certainly did not delete my own thread.

So here is a very clear and direct example. Perhaps the previous issues were explained and resolved, but this one has not been. Please could you address as a matter of urgency.

BG

That topic (started by you) was indeed deleted, and I offer you my sincerest apologies for that - it was mistakenly deleted when cleaning up the 'infowars' spam as there was an 'infowars' post in it. I have now removed the 'infowars' post and restored the thread.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Customer support / Re: severely short on refund.
« on: July 06, 2013, 10:37 pm »
gotcha, thanks.

Seems like issue may be resolved in another way?

We'll see.

Thanks again for explanation.

If an order is hedged then you will receive back the USD value of the order (in BTC) when you are receiving a refund. If the value of Bitcoin drops whilst your order is in escrow, you will receive more BTC. If the value of Bitcoin increases whilst your order is in escrow, you will receive less BTC.

Please read the Buyer's Guide for more information:
