Customer support / Re: Scammed by Mrbuddha
« on: July 25, 2013, 05:20 pm »
so I got scammed by Mrbuddha for $500 in a MP to BC transaction.  I got an email stating that the money had been returned to my account - signed Silk Road Staff.  Is that just part of the screw job or what?

Silk Road can not offer support for Bitcoin exchange purchases and we recommend that you do not buy Bitcoin from exchangers operating on Silk Road. Please re-read the Buyer's Guide, and read the FAQ section of the SR Wiki:

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Buyer%27s_Guide#Getting_Bitcoins

http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/wiki/index.php?title=Frequently_Asked_Questions#I_need_help_with_a_bitcoin_transaction_from_a_Silk_Road_vendor.

The message you received is automatically sent when a vendor cancels an order. Under normal circumstances a buyer pays X amount for the item that they are purchasing. However, you did not make any payment as the listing was for $0.00, therefore there was no payment to return to your account. Again, Silk Road can not offer support for Bitcoin exchange purchases as they can not - by their very nature - be held in escrow.

However, we do need buyers who choose to engage in such transactions that get burned to report them to SR Support on the main site in order to give us grounds to investigate a vendor and suspend them if we find evidence of scamming or rule breaking.

@Libertas:

does that mean i could sell my buyer accounts via Gumtree or other venders who sell in commision?

That would be permitted although you would not be allowed to advertise them here. The forums cannot be used for sales, and cannot be used for advertising items unless those items are offered for sale in a listing on the main site.

Your buyer account is yours to do with as you please; however, offering an account for sale on a clearnet website (such as Gumtree) when it has a verifiable history of illegal transactions - and presumably accepting payment for it via a relatively traceable method - wouldn't be the smartest idea.

Other vendors could, in theory, list your account for you. However, they would be leaving themselves open to a lot of risk if either party is dissatisfied with the trade as it is the vendor's feedback that would take the hit.

If you get scammed by a vendor please message SR Support on the main site with the details of what has occurred.

I have a buyer account on the road and here are the stats:

    1 month   3 months   1 year
total transactions    1    9    43
total spent    $115.61    $668.43    $6,949.20
refund rate    0%    0%    0%
auto-finalize rate    0%    0%    0%
I have been a member for 9months.Christy Nuggs requires an established buyer history of 8 months and i have finally bought some of her famous blue dream haze. Im not leaving the Road. Im merely starting a new buyer account and hoping to get some coins by selling this one to the highest bidder. I will be selling my account to the highest bidder over the next 24hrs, [REDACTED]. If you are accepted then I will send you a message with a bitcoin address to deposit the coins.
The coins from your purchase of my buyer account will be funneled back onto the road.

Being an established buyer can get you ALOT of things on the road!

After the coins are in the account I will PM you the name of my buyer account with the login information and PIN number.
Immediately after logging in you need to change the passphrase and PIN number.

As Raoul Duke has stated above if you wish to sell any item on Silk Road you will first need to purchase a vendor account. Any further attempts to sell anything - without first purchasing a vendor account with which to sell it - will result in your account being deleted.

Thread locked as joolz is spouting more nonsense on the Customer Support boards, having already been advised that staff would not be engaging him due to the fact that his claims are all untrue. He is also producing copy/paste messages which he is already FULLY aware can not be counted as evidence.

Nice try, InfiniteSource. Writing 'penis' in the captcha box was also a nice touch - very mature!
(EDIT: Apparently that was HEATfan. Oh dear. However.......)

You were banned because you are a repeat scammer, already having run the 'coachella420', 'InfiniteSource', 'DealerOfDrugs' accounts, among others. Any further accounts we find belonging to you will be shut down without warning.

However, to address your claims - none of your personal information was revealed, for two reasons:

a) We protect people's information here, regardless of who they are or what they have done. We cannot be expected to be entitled to anonymity if we do not guarantee that anonymity for others. You obviously have the time, so you can go through my post history to see the numerous times I have stated that.

b) We don't have your personal information. I'm not sure if you noticed but the idea behind Silk Road is being able to buy and sell items anonymously. I don't recall you sending us your personal information, nor would we be able to access such information, so that puts that one to bed.

I called you out when you were asking buyers to FE as 'InfiniteSource' before you had reached the necessary requirements to do so and you have had a personal issue with me since. However, that does bring me a little satisfaction - the fact that a scammer absolutely hates me personally means one thing, if nothing else: I am doing my job properly.

DPR is fully aware of the circumstances surrounding your suspension, and is fully aware of the concrete evidence I have linking you to your previous accounts. Needless to say, everybody knows that they're not getting any truth from you. You can try to slander me all you wish - it will make no difference to your standing in this community, nor make the tiniest bit of difference to me. I stated when I first started working at Silk Road that I'm here do my job regardless of whether I receive praise or criticism for it. That hasn't changed, nor will it.

Your little 'campaign' against me is a waste of your time, but feel free to engage in it if it gives you a purpose. At least then you'll be concentrating on attacking me and not stealing from members of this community.

I would advise all of you to take what a verified scammer says with a pinch of salt. He has no intention of returning anybody's funds, and is trying to get the BTC released to him so as he can take off with what he has stolen from buyers.

If any of you see something looking dodgy like this again in future please report it to SR Support over on the main site to ensure it gets seen to as quickly as possible.

Thanks!

Thanks folks; to reiterate what DPR has said above, we do hope that this is making browsing the site for the items you're interested in a little easier for you.

I still have one or two things that don't have their own specific category and fall under the auspices of benzos.

Got that sorted for you!

Newbie discussion / Re: Spam warning message by Libertas

I'm posting the content of the message I sent you in response to your question in order to clarify the situation for others:

Is this an automated message?

I have been posting to the "Spam here to get past the newbie restriction" threads only, as many are doing.

No, it's not an automated message.

We have no way of knowing if you're running a scam site or not and due to the nature of Tor are regularly targeted by spammers advertising Bitcoin scam sites, which people unfortunately do fall for. Spamming your bitcoinmoxy.com link all over the place makes you look like one of those scammers. Having reviewed your posts it seems you are aiming for something more legitimate, and you are, of course, entitled to completely free speech here as long as you're not plastering the boards with the same message (which, again, at first glance looks like a scam due to the nature of the content and the style of posting) - feel free to start one or two threads advertising your services, and 'spam to 50' in the newbie threads but please do not plaster your site link all over the forum.
