Michael Flemmons was arrested at 11 a.m. Wednesday and charged with felony possession of marijuana, said Sgt. Jonathan Stewart with the Lubbock Police Department. Flemmons is accused of possessing between 4 ounces and 5 pounds of the drug, said inspector Mona Hernandez, acting public information officer for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Fort Worth district. Hernandez declined to be more specific about the quantity of the marijuana. If tried and convicted, Flemmons could face up to two years in the state penal system, a $10,000 fine or both, Stewart said. The Postal Inspection Service is investigating whether Flemmons used the postal system to receive marijuana. Hernandez also declined to reveal how officials became informed of possible mail involvement in the case.
