There is not a single record of a pedophile who used Tor for CP trading ever being identified. The most secure pedos who have been pwnt,, used VPN services or SSH tunnels. I did hear of one site being traced that was behind a multi hop reverse proxy though, and really that is more anonymous than a Tor hidden service (for the server, not the clients) (Tor does a really bad job at keeping servers hidden, but a better job at keeping the people who visit them hidden).

There was another CP server I read about that was just using someones open WiFI I guess the person running that site thought wireless signals cant be traced lol (actually a very very common mistake that a lot of people make in all kinds of contexts....the feds have a few years ago mastered the art of analyzing and tracing wireless signals prior to barging into random peoples homes and accusing them of all sorts of things )

Aurumxchange offers this feature but they require id/a utility bill

First, I have never heard anyone say that they did the groceries and if they did say that I would probably look at them like they just said one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. You did your girlfriend is a slang term, which could be said about doing drugs also, but in the case of your girlfriend you saying you did her is not the result of propaganda.

There are two primary ways to anonymize your bitcoins:

1. Obtain them anonymously. If the method you use to get bitcoins can not be linked back to you, then your bitcoins are anonymous. In short, bitcoins are as anonymous as the method used to obtain them.

methods of anonymously obtaining bitcoins:

A. Sell drugs for bitcoins
B. Buy with western union, using fake ID if required (semi-anonymous)
C. Buy with cash in the mail
D. Buy with moneypak (semi anonymous)

2. Use a mixing service. These unlink your coins from your account. In short

Account (1,2) ----> Mix -----> Account(3,4)

Assume two people are using the mix. Someone watching the block chain can not link coins leaving the mix to accounts 3,4 to either accounts 1 or 2, because the coin from account 1 could have gone to either 3 or 4 and the same goes for account 2 (assuming that they both send equal amounts in and out). If a blind mixing service is used, even the mix itself can not link the accounts together. Get enough people using a mixing service and the outgoing coins have an equal chance of having originated at a huge number of people. Now when account 4 sends coins to LEs account 5, once LE trace the coins path back to the mix they can not determine if the coin actually originated from account 1 or account 2.

The best bet is to combine both of these techniques, because although both are anonymous they result in different properties. Obtaining coins anonymously can still be traced back to the cash in point in many cases (WU, whatever) and you then need to rely on the attacker not being able to link your identity to that cash in point. Using a mixing service anonymizes your coins after they exit the mix, but it doesn't hide that your identity used bitcoin + a mixing service. By layering both techniques together, you can hide the fact that you use bitcoin, hide the fact that you use mixes (potentially important to do) and hide the cash in location/technique that you used.

Your mistake is in thinking that the government actually wants to win the war. That type of thinking is for the commoners and is the product of propaganda. The real goal of war is of course money. If you win the war there is nothing left to fund. Government doesn't want to win the war on drugs, they want to make a profit. To understand this you need to realize that the government doesn't actually spend money fighting wars, they take your money and fund themselves and call this action "fighting a war" , usually against something that they have demonized via propaganda campaigns (as in drugs) or greatly blown out of proportion (for example terrorism). It is quite the sophisticated conspiracy, and some of them certainly drink their own kool aid. But when there is evidence supporting something, when a rational mind can see something, you just must come to the conclusion that people who pretend otherwise are either mentally defective or willing participants in the conspiracy. I pity some of them because much like religious people exposed to a religion since birth, it makes them extremely uncomfortable to question obvious fallacies even when there is enormous evidence that discredits their beliefs. People have a much easier time accepting previously believed lies than adopting new truths. The sociology of the war on drugs[etc] and government control is really quite amazing.
