Can you imagine if authorities got the tormail server ?
Although, for anyone who knows unix servers , we know that mail accounts can be accessed by the webmaster account through an IMAP session of sorts. Also, there is such a thing as a catch all address that keeps a copy of each message in the postmaster account or whatever. Otherwise, it's quite safe.
Ahhhh the secrets it must hold. It must be a prime target as the communication hub of the dark web.
Any idea if the person running it would sell it off to the highest bidder at some point In The future? Dunno. But I question everything. Money talks. Bitcoin can make a man do strange things.
I try not to use it without PGP.

I should probably be doing this. I have been using TorMail to keep a lot of private info safe. I'm less worried about my account being hacked than I am about it mysteriously disappearing and then not being able to remember all of my secret PIN's and codes etc.

Can LE close the service ? What do you think ?
I think not because it's just an e-mail service and there's no jurisdiction which says that tormail developers can go to jail but it's strange that they don't notice users through other darknet services/boards what happened.
I hope it's only maintenance break because it happened in past either.

Wow, I never thought to do this...I think I will definitely start.

Started when TOR changed the port to 9151, my thunderbird wouldn't work. Now can't log on at all. Pain in the ass. At least we have the PM.
also simplePM with the onion address is helpful.
