Title: Permanent Shroom Effects
Post by: MrBing2012 on March 17, 2013, 06:03 am
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced any permanent side effects from doing magic mushrooms.
I've only done them twice but ever since I have I get these little black dots that float around in my peripheral vision.
Its not that noticeable in the summer but now that there's snow everywhere It looks like little flies or bits of ash floating around all over the place and its getting annoying.
It's been like 3 or 4 years since I last did shrooms and I think its actually gotten worse this year. As I'm typing this there is a little black dot floating around my screen (Should I punch it?)

I was thinking about trying shrooms again but I'm hesitant about fucking up my head even more.

Those are called floaters.  Not the toilet kind.      Very common.

Google that shiz.    I have them,  you get used to them, and when you look at white walls or snow or even a nice blue sky.      Pain in the ass, but you learn to not see them after a while.

I presume floaters (lol) can happen after using any type of psychedelic, or just magic mushies?

This is absolutely true. Thay are called vitreous floaters, and I have had them, much to my annoyance, since I was a little kid, maybe since birth. Thay're awfully irritating, more so at some times than others. The secret is to try to accept them and at the same time to ignore them, get past them, because I am afraid there is no remedy.

But as to being caused by mushroom use? BS. It has nothing to do with that. They are torn pieces of the retina that just float around in the vitreous humour.

The only long-term effect (and not even close to permanent) is a trippy mentality, a surge of psychedelic thinking and associated emotional state, that you can get even months after ingesting, especially if you've been doing them for a good long time at frequent intervals. Some refer to this as "flashbacks", a terribly derogatory term in my opinion.

Yeah I just assumed it was from the shrooms since its the only thing I could think of that would cause that.
I'm not actually sure how long I've had them but I definitely didn't notice them until after I did shrooms.
And if these aren't caused by shrooms then what causes them then?

Yeah, like I said, they get torn off the surface of the retina. A hit in the head could do it, or some other strong movement; MAYBE even emotional turmoil, like the kind that a strong psychedelic trip may produce.

The fact that you didn't notice them before the trip may indicate that you didn't have them, or it may show that you just didn't notice them period. But there's no direct physical cause and effect between a trip shroom or otherwise and the sudden appearance of floaters.

yeah i've done shrooms about 100+ times easily within a year 1 1/2 . it was because i had an unlimited supply, and it was my favorite drug to use.

i have those black dot floaters, but maybe once every two weeks or so. it usually is expedited when i use other drugs though.
but otherwise i do not have any side effects, other than mind expansion, a greater knowledge of myself, and ALOT more open-minded.

otherwise i have exceeded my times i have used shrooms, and will probably never use them again, once you have learned as much as possible from a drug, i believe it is wise to quit. i would literally take shrooms and feel normal, while everything around me is OEV/CEV.

been almost two years in august since i've touched shrooms. I ask people if they think i would of been a shroom head, and they say off the bat- NO..but as they are more convinced...hahahha you know when their is psychedelic love in the air

i'm a modern day hippy for life. i lift heavy 5 days a week, keep very good hygeine, look good.
but nothing will ever change my psychedelic background =)

I forgot how to tie my shoes after a night of heavy shrooms.
Now I jus have a stutter when I get excited and drool a bit.  Glad it's not too bad .
