Title: Threatening message from Vendor
Post by: noctemTSR on March 06, 2013, 02:08 am
Hello all,
I am relatively new to silk road, but have made quite a few transaction's all no problem.
I have ordered out of country and did not consider any time frame for orders. But the order i am about reference was US to US.
Made a purchase from a seller, The item took ~12 days compared to my other orders taking 2-4. Max 7 business days.
I purchased from this seller, and gave them a 4/5 on the shipping as in my opinion it took a long time. I then get this message

"I shipped your [REMOVED] in a timely manner, if that 4 of 5 stays on my ratings you can be assured that your name will go on a BANNED BUYERS LIST. There will be a lot of vendors on Silk Road that check that list and won't sell to you again. [REMOVED]"

I am sorry if this is the wrong forum, if someone could direct me to the correct line of inquiry.
Should i just change the rating? Is this something normally done? Wondering if because it got here at all this seller should get a 5/5?
Thank's to all that read.

Idk, you cant really blame a vendor for how long shipping takes. Unless they ship it later than is actually claimed. Match up the time with whatever it states on the site, and what is states on your packaging. Once it is out of the vendors hands, thats it. So, like I said, theres nothing that can be done unless they shipped it later than it states.

Just be thankful when it arrives.

As for rating, that is up to the buyer, or should be. So unless they shipped it really late, than they probably deserve a 5, if the product lives up to how described, etc.

I wouldn't consider that a threat. 4/5 is not a good rating at all in vendors eyes because it fucks up their %. That wait wasn't bad at all IMO I think the seller reserves this right.

Shipping times are often out of the hands of the vendor. Unless you made a specific agreement with them and paid for express delivery or something and didn't get that service I do not think you are warranted leaving a reduced feedback score. This is not eBay, you ordered some drugs on the internet and they arrived, if you are happy with the quality of what you were sent you should amend your feedback and apologize to the vendor.

I agree with the others. Note in your feedback that the shipping took a long time, but leaving anything less than a 5/5 should be reserved for issues within the vendors control. If the vendor had shipped the wrong product or something and then refused to fix their mistake then you could leave a poor rating. The rating system is more for establishing trust than for proving quality.

It's not eBay, you're right, but like eBay, sellers are held to an unreasonable standard when it comes to the system, and a below-acceptable standard when it comes to actual practice. This unfortunate discrepancy is still unresolved. Until then, just know that regardless of how you feel about your transaction, anything that isn't 5/5 is directly lowering their marketability and thus, earnings. You're playing with someone's bank account. Choose your battles. Unfortunately, buyers suffer equally; no one likes selling to an account without thousands in transactions, so the money you spend on this account could lose it's 'value' by having your name blacklisted.

Yeah its not EBAY but it may aswell be.

If you're not 100% satisfied with your order don't leave a 5/5 thats what the rating system is for. If the vendor is attempting to coerce  you into leaving a higher score, reduce that score by another point so 3/5 or atleast when you leave the score make mention of EXACTLY what happened. you want to warn other buyers and shitty vendors on this site are fucking shit up.

Goodluck ;)
