an order I placed with a vendor over 7 weeks ago has still not arrived yet,I have been extending the FE via the the resolution centre and no payment has been released by my self. The vendor has now offerd to do a re-send if I msg them my shipment address through silkroad is this a wise and safe thing to do eg sending them my address via a msg, by the way the vendor is bluegirraffe(100) and they have very good selling stats and great feedback,many thanks ahead of any response.

Bummer dude,
I always order domestic and there is never lost packages for me and I always pay for tracking and use it. Things going through customs is always a greater risk. It would show on tracking info if it got held somewhere and confiscated. This would be helpful as you wouldn't want to use the same address again too soon because it may be marked.
Sounds like you did the right thing, extend the time, keep in contact with the vendor, give it a chance and be nice about it all. - seems you did all the right steps.
------> Silk road message system within the site is ok. Its not encrypted, but it also doesn't travel outside the server. Use PGP to encrypt your address and send it through a msg like he asks.
There is no other way to make contact with a vendor. and its best done through the silk road site so he can have all his orders organized together in one place.

many thanks JEDI for the quick and very informative response there definately seems to be a group of helpfull and freindly folk out there on the forum thanks again and I'll follow the vendors instructions as they have a great reputation and no bad reports.

Totally normal mate, just make sure you use a different address for the re ship.
