Title: Question about Keyloggers Please help
Post by: Baconmmm on April 20, 2013, 04:04 pm
Recently, I made a Btc-E account to start investing. I put in three hundred dollars and while I was trying to confirm my email I changed it to an anonymous email and I thought Btc-e would keep their window open but they didn't and I got logged out. Now I need to remember the dam login. I know the password, just not the username.

My question is:

Is there a keylogger I can download to use on my own computer to retrieve that information that I typed into Btc-e on Tuesday? I typed it into btc-e and AOL. If not, is there another way I can retrieve that information

A HUGE thank you to everyone that helps.

No...  keyloggers are not retroactive.  Next time you want to steal your buddy's shit, install it before he logs into his accounts.

Another way?... if AOL is installed, look in the registry, maybe it'll be listed somewhere.  Other than that, you sound SOL.  If you're using AOL, maybe your cookie permissions are set wide open... look though them perhaps as well.  Did you try hitting the back button?  Have you tried contacting support@btc-e.com?

And if you didn't finish the email confirmation, shouldn't your UN still be the old one?

I presume you're using a Windows OS.

Download a program called System Information for Windows (SIW) and run it. It's basically a tool for giving you information about your computer; you can get a portable version if you don't wish to install it.

Once it's running you'll see a menu on the left hand side, and one of the clickable buttons should be 'Passwords'. Click on that. In the right hand pane you should see a list.

Windows actually records the places that you put a username and password into in many instances (and records the actual username and password itself, though the password is not revealed in full by SIW), so if it recorded it in this instance then this MIGHT be able to show you the username for your btc-e account.
