Title: Auto-Finalize mishap
Post by: Nonprofitflight on April 13, 2013, 03:27 pm
Ok, so. i know this is a really stupid thing to have done, but i let something auto-finalize on my account and i never got it in the mail. i was nervous about clicking resolve to drop the hammer, and due to time differences, today, the day i thought to be the last day i could finalize or resolve, auto resolve has already gone through. and i've still yet to get my product. or get any communication from the seller.  Nevita is a very popular seller, and i highly doubt i got scammed as much as my product got lost in the mail, but now i'm in a sotra shitty situation. with so few transactions on my account, this one situation has bumped my autofinalize rate from 0% to 21%. which is a bit of an issue for me, as i'm very particular about my proceedings here, and i'm very unhappy with this true, but misrepresenting information on my account. i'm not looking for any BTC back, as i'm still not convinced the product isn't going to arrive, but i'd really like to have those negative stats taken off  my record. Is there anything that can be done?

many thanks in advance.

In future if your order has not arrived after 10 days, click the resolution button and request an extension. The extension will kick in after the 17 day auto-finalise period. Once an order is in the resolution center it will not auto-finalise.

Vendors don't mind you putting an item into resolution to request an extension if it hasn't arrived - that is what the resolution center is there for - so don't be afraid to enter into resolution.

It's worse for vendors if you wait 'til the last minute then decide to request an extension as they are expecting their account to be credited at the end of day 17; as you did not enter resolution to request an extension  before that period was up they would be under the impression that you either forgot to finalise or had no intention of doing so.

Regarding editing your stats, this has been brought up with SR Support before and is only done in exceptional circumstances. Unfortunately I do not believe that they would view this as an exceptional circumstance, otherwise everybody would be letting things auto-finalise and telling a story to support their request that their stats be edited. The marketplace could not function properly under such a scenario.

Your auto-finalise rate will gradually lower as you make more purchases. More expensive and more recent purchases count for more when calculating your auto-finalise rate.

Thanks, Graham.

i figured i was just gonna have to deal, but it was worth asking. being too nervous to act obviously fucked me over so far.  :-\
i don't know why i was so gunshy, but i started communication with the vendor, and altho its going slowly, i feel its going. thanks for being so patient with my blatant noob disorder.
