Title: Why has everyone decided to use the BTC symbol? I like it

I notice allot of people are using the BTC symbol.. How do i make mine that as well?

There is no universally accepted Bitcoin symbol at present as there is no Unicode Bitcoin symbol yet in existence; in many cases, people use the Unicode symbol for the Thai Baht (฿) as it is the most identifiable with Bitcoin (by virtue of having a "B" in it), and is the closest Unicode character to the Serif "B" with 4 stripes that has been used in Bitcoin literature since Bitcoin's inception. The Serif "B" with the 4 stripes can be seen on the top left hand corner of the Bitcoin Wiki page:

'฿' is not "the BTC symbol" per se, but it is the closest representation of it that we currently have in a Unicode format.

well thanks but i was just wondering why allot of ppl seemed to put it up on their profile
