Title: Bitcoins missing -very weird circumstances...
Post by: Rotanpaska on October 04, 2012, 04:40 am
I'll keep this short and nice: Here is all the information you need; in the message I sent to SR Support almost 48hours ago - and haven't received any kind of reply yet! I am getting a bit worried, for a reason? Please tell me if this has happened to you too.

Here is the message I sent to SR-support:

"Hello!

Earlier today I sent some bitcoins to my SR Bitcoin-adress, and got worried because I hadn't received them in 8 hours.

What makes this very interesting, is this: http://blockexplorer.com/address/1J3TqRRD7gdzqZyYxNStqcqVTMtgFkmGRL

It shows the bitcoin transactions on my current SR-adress, and what I understand from it, it clearly shows that I have actually "received" the coins, and then "sent" them to someone or, what you could think at the moment, I bought something. But no, I have not bought anything.

Then to the second weird thing; I of course thought that someone somehow had gained access to my account, and tried to view "Account History". There's NOTHING in account history, it shows blank? Of course my computer is very well protected, and there is no way that someone could get my log in data.

I wish I just misunderstood something, but this really looks weird to me.

Hoping to get a reply soon.

Best wishes,

Rotanpaska"

P.S. You can look up the BT-adress on blockchain too:  http://blockchain.info/address/1J3TqRRD7gdzqZyYxNStqcqVTMtgFkmGRL

If you can somehow explain this, or help me to get in contact with SR-staff, thank you in advance,

Be patient, silkroad deposits can take a long time to show up your SR wallet is not like a bitcoin wallet at all. its just a deposit address that SR links with your name.

It will most likely show up before you wake up tomorrow, if not then you should contact support, not that you havent already.

Okay, I understand it can take some time, but I just started to worry, because every transaction before has been in like 2-3 hours after deposit, and for me it looks like the adress received it and then the bitcoins were right away sent to somewhere else.

Anyway, if this is the case, sorry for an unneccesary post and moderators can delete this if possible.

Hi mobile96,

I would suggest you read up about Bitcoin. You can do this at the Bitcoin Wiki here:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page

or at the official Bitcoin website here:
http://bitcoin.org/about.html

The amount of Bitcoin in your account is not decreasing, but its USD value is. The value of Bitcoin is constantly fluctuating so when Bitcoin loses some of its value you will see a corresponding decrease in the USD amount in your account. When Bitcoin gains value you will see a corresponding increase in the USD amount in your account.
It acts much like a commodity; gold would be the best commodity to compare it to for explanatory purposes. Gold increases and decreases in value depending on a huge range of factors, economic and otherwise. Bitcoin does the same.

It wouldn't hurt to do some research on Bitcoin for your own benefit and peace of mind.
