Title: Cannot Log In
Post by: The_I on October 01, 2012, 07:43 pm
First time SR user here.

I'm getting what seems to be a common problem, but none of the fixes I've found have helped so far. After I type my username, password, and (presumably correct) captcha answer, I hit the "login" button, but am just brought back to the login page with all fields blank.

I have cookies disabled and private browsing enabled in my tor browser, and no encryption programs at work other than Tor's.
Can anyone help and clue me in on what I'm doing wrong here?

Thanks for reading.

Turn cookies on, and make sure you have the URL for the website right?

I am using the right URL, and turning cookies on doesn't work.

ISSUE RESOLVED

It seems that a combination of cookies being on and private browsing being activated was required.

I'm having a problem with the log in too. I have to log in several times using the same passkey before it actually works. I am now waiting for my pin to be reset, it makes me wonder if it was not a system error rather than me forgetting the pin number. Regardless, it's frustrating having to wait 7 days for a reset, even more so if it wasn't my fault to begin with.

Ensure that you have the latest TOR release installed. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to log in, other times you log in on your first try - just the way it is.

Read the "If you're having trouble with your PIN" link in my signature for the reasons why you have to wait 7 days for a PIN reset. It was entirely your fault, your password and PIN are two completely separate things.
