So, I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this: Often times when I try to search the forums for a topic, the site gives me an error message. It says that I've already searched within the last 5 seconds(even when I haven't), and it tells me to try again later. I haven't been able to find any rhyme or reason to this happening. Is anybody else experiencing this, and does anybody know why? Many thanks in advance!

As far as I'm aware it's because somebody else accessing the forums from the same node as you are (thus sharing the same IP address) has searched the forums within 5 seconds of you searching (5 seconds before you, that is.)
It happens fairly often, and will also occasionally happen when you're posting a reply to a topic or a new thread.

That makes sense, grahamgreene. Thank you both for the help! I guess I'll just have to live with it ::)

The reason that you have to search from the forum home page for more results is because when you use the Search function, it searches the forum that you're currently active in.

You're welcome. :) And yup, it's something we all have to deal with but given what we have here pressing the back button and waiting 5 seconds isn't too big an inconvenience! I'm going to assume you're in your teens or very early twenties? Not sure if you remember what dial-up was like but only having to wait 5 seconds for something instead of a minute or more would have been a godsend back in those days. :P

It all makes sense now! Thanks for the heads up grahamgreene. If I could +1 you I would. I've also been experiencing this with trying to post a reply on the forums.

LOL! I'm actually a lil closer to the big 30 so I totally remember. I also lived in a very rural area during high school, so that's all anybody had. Tor gave me a flashback when I first started using it a cpl months ago! :P

Haha, those were the days eh! I remember trying to look at a porn picture with dial-up.. You'd practically be 'done' by the time the damn thing loaded! :P
