Title: Attention Australia users - individual Entertainment book vouchers!
Post by: croprotator on September 02, 2012, 09:23 pm
Yes I know it's a little different.

If you know of the various Entertainment books around Australia you'll know they have about $15000 worth of discounts however a lot of these you won't use and others you want heaps of.

The book says you can't swap/sell individual vouchers but hey, hello silk road.

For example: anyone be interested in buying my three Oporto vouchers (value of about $20) of these for 0.25BTC?

testonetwo there is nothing wrong with the pink dollar. What's the point of sourcing the finest psychedelics, amphetamines and stimulants from around the world if you've got nothing to do when you get them? :)

Silk road needs to be broader than just mind altering substances, and we need to constantly find new ways to expand the relevance and buying power of bitcoins to ensure its very survival.

grahamgreene I don't have a vendor account on SR. Apologies. What I'm suggesting here is fairly low $ stuff and my take away from the discussions on these forums is that there is a fairly strict and arduous process to becoming a seller. I would perhaps appreciate then if someone knows of another forum where some of these items can be thrown up onto?

I fully agree. testonetwo, this is a marketplace built on Agorist principles and ideals, and people are free to sell what they want. It mightn't be to your taste, but it certainly will appeal to someone else.

croprotator, it is against the rules to sell anything here without a Silk Road vendor account, regardless of it's value. This is to protect people from being scammed and is something that is strictly enforced.

The process to becoming a seller is as easy as clicking the "Become a seller" link in the SR 'Account links' panel and paying $150 USD (currently around 15 BTC). That's all there is to it.
The rest (learning how to properly use PGP, proper packaging techniques, anonymously cashing out etc.) may take a little time but they are recommended for security purposes. They're not necessary in order to obtain a vendor account, but they're highly recommended for protection of both customer and vendor, and it's unlikely you'll make many sales without them. Although if the goods you're offering are digital goods there'll obviously be no need for packaging and the likes. Or for cashing out if you plan on simply building up your Bitcoin holdings or using the Bitcoin to purchase other items.

I imagine you could sell these vouchers on bitmit.net (sort of like eBay but with Bitcoin as the currency) or perhaps even in the marketplace section of bitcointalk.org. If you want to register and use bitcointalk.org you will be limited to the "Newbies" section until 4 hours of constant log-in time have passed and you have 5 posts to your name.

Best of luck,

- grahamgreene

grahamegreene you're a gentleman and a scholar. thanks for the advice.the legality of selling these vouchers is somewhat in question so i may hold off and just give them to friends the old fashioned way. :)

hmm.. back to racking my brain to think of a product that people want to purchase anonymously but is diverse enough to stand out from the crowd on SR!

That's what the community is here for!  :)

You could try listing them over on Black Market Reloaded (http://5onwnspjvuk7cwvk.onion) though I wouldn't imagine there'd be a huge amount of interest there. Still though, you never know!

As far as their legality goes, they don't seem all that bad in the grand scheme of things so I'd imagine you could still list them on Bitmit. Access Bitmit via TOR, use a Tormail email address etc. for registration, and receive payment via Bitcoin. No problemo!  :)

Grahamgreene, is the general consensus that a safe-mail.net email address is as anonymous as a tormail.org address?

Absolutely not; safe-mail is similar to hushmail in that if records are requested by the authorities they will just hand them over.

Tormail is more anonymous in the sense that it can only be accessed through TOR and your IP address is hidden from it, but PGP encryption should still be used for all communication as we really have no way of knowing if they're storing records / content of our emails, despite the claims on the tormail.org homepage.
