Title: Interest in Alcohol in the EU ?
Post by: sbaxter on January 07, 2012, 07:21 am
Hi,

is anybody interested in Alcohol shipped from the EU to the EU ?

I can get some of the "standard" liquors, like Vodka (Stolychnaya, Eristoff), Cognacs (the basic ones, no X.O. for example), Whiskeys (also the well known brands, nothing fancy) for about half the price they are sold at in Germany or Austria.
For example, a bottle of red Stolychnaia would be about 7 EUR.
Basically I can get anything that is available in a large store-chain here. Sorry, no discounts possible for larger orders (except shipping of course).

Maybe this is interesting for northern Europeans?

I have a seller account both on SR and on BMR . Payment can be made via BTC, LR, paysafecard, ukash or WMZ. BTC and paysafecard I will accept without additional fee, for the others I will have to check the fees first.
I can do it with escrow or without, without escrow I would charge 10% less (in need of fast cash atm)

If you are interested please PM me or ask here

cheers,

nm

Hi sbaxter.

I'd be interested in the basics (vodka, rum, whiskey), and perhaps champagne if it would be available? If you can throw up prices here, or on your SR profile, that'd be great!  :)

Hi,

sorry, but I dont have a list of products. This is a large store chain where I happen to get giftcards cheap.
The don't publish pricelists.

I will try to note some prices for whiskey, rum and vodka next time I go there.
Champagne is available as well,

cheers,

Stephe

Excellent, thanks sbaxter. Prices would be great; I may be interested in large orders for a couple of bars / pubs that we have an interest in.

Cheers!

Hi,

I am afraid I gave a wrong impression here.
I simply know a store where I get "very good conditions", but I can only buy "household amounts".

I don't want (and wouldn't know how) to open a alcohol-smuggling ring, just make some small money
on the side, sorry if I woke some wrong hopes !

It's more or less the same with the cigarettes I am offering, in this case I am buying them at the
regular price, but still at "normal" stores around the corner, so no bulk order possible there.

cheers,

Stephe

Hey man, I'm in the US and I've been looking for everclear, the extremely high proof alcohol, but it's illegal in my state in the US. If you have anything comparable (I'm looking for at least 180-proof;  the 195-proof one would be even better) or even everclear itself (I'm not sure if they sell it over there) that would be absolutely amazing.

If you can let me know what volume it would be and what price it would be, I expect to have more BTC in a week.

Hi,

I am not familiar with this xxx-proof notation, what does 180-proof or 195-proof mean actually?
(I have googled it and found that 180-proof is 90%, but I want to make sure.

I can get 98% (or so) pure alcohol without any problems, is that what you want?

The problem will probably be customs. If you have any suggestions regarding packaging I will be glad
to follow them if possible. Or we simply try with a small quantity, costs on me.

Yea, you convert from "proof" to percent alcohol by dividing by 2. I admit it's a stupid notation, percent is more logical. 98% would be great, but I'd like to know the brand, volume, and cost if possible. That would make my decision much easier. =]

The brand?
98% alcohol is just that - almost pure alcohol, does it really matter where exactly it was made?

But, anyway, I will check tomorrow at my pharmacy regarding the price, then I can also ask them about the brand,
but usually it comes in those brown pharmacy-bottles, without any brand-name etc., just the name of the pharmacy.

How much do you want/need, given that the price is ok?
There might be some limits on how much alcohol one can buy at once, I would like to check that, too, when I am there.

cheers,

Stephe

Interested on how you'll end up sending this.

well, I was thinking on simply filling a whiskey-bottle with this alcohol.
The worst that will happen is some import-tax, I will of course attach an invoice.
I don't think that they actually open bottles, am I wrong here?

Isn't 98% alcohol colourless?

Wouldn't be better then to send it in the cheapest vodka bottle you can find?

I would agree with the vodka bottle idea, but if it's already in a relatively inconspicuous bottle, I'd say leave it that way. Just wanted to make sure you remembered that I'm in the US (where I think labeling it as moonshine might be a problem).

But I wasn't really aware you could just buy alcohol at the pharmacy. This is ethyl-alcohol, right? I want something I would be able to drink/mix if I was feeling adventurous. I suppose it could just be cultural differences, though. As long as it's safe, I don't care where it's made; just having a brand-name would have helped me identify that it's for drinking purposes, y'know?

Anyway, a Liter or 2 would be a cool volume IMO, but starting out with a smaller volume might be a good idea as far as shipping concerns go. Depending on how my extractions work out, I might want more after that.

Thanks for going through all of this for me, though, man. I really appreciate it.

Ok, Vodka bottle is better, I agree.

As to what kind of alcohol this is, I don't know, I will ask a friend who knows about such matters.
I cannot very well go to the pharmacy and ask whether I can drink this ;)

Hi,

The alcohol I was referring to is NOT SAFE TO DRINK!
methyl ethyl fuckyl - anyway, I was wrong, I cannot get alcohol for you, at least one that you ould or should drink,

Sorry for the false hope, I tend to be a bit overenthusiastic sometimes

It's quite alright, man; I still really appreciate that you looked into it for me. If you do see any high-purity ethyl alcohol, I'll be interested, but I'm going to go check out some chemical supply stores to see if maybe they have USP-grade ethanol for lab use (hopefully without it being denatured)... Worth a shot, right? =]
