(I'm not counting the instructions that grahamgreene posts, which don't work and therefore aren't helpful.) There should be an actual explanation of what the process is and how it works. That explanation should also cover how to reply to a message that isn't even readable and so forth. Also if they would consistently call it the same thing that would be a big help too. I was prompted for a PIN but others in this thread have said it's a transaction password and not a numeric PIN at all, which means every PIN I tried would have been wrong. I also think you should be prompted for the pin before generating a new BC address so that you won't accidentally receive coins into your account if the account is not able to move those coins along. I resurrected my account that had been 6 mo's dormant because I wanted to keep my rep but if I had known what a hassle this was going to be I would have set up a new account before sending the bitcoins in, dang. At least they haven't been losing value, that's the one sliver lining.Cheers,D. ShytorApologies that I couldn't be more helpful.Regarding the PIN itself, when setting it you can use numbers or letters - it's simply another password, but is referred to as a PIN because it's used when making transactions.I disagree that people should be prompted for their PIN before generating a new address. The majority of Silk Road users don't have any PIN problems as they ensure that they remember their PIN. When setting it, there are instructions in "CAPS" telling you to do just that.It is the responsibility of each member and each member alone to remember their PIN - just as it is a person's own responsibility to remember their credit card PIN, bank card PIN, etc.My own PIN is relatively long, and I generate a new address anytime I fund my account. Though it would only be a minor inconvenience, a member who remembers their PIN as instructed shouldn't have to be inconvenienced simply because others fail to remember theirs.- grahamgreene
