Any one with half a brain and a little motivation could find an invite through deepweb forums. Invite only communities are always better than ones where any one can join.I don't seriously have to answer that question, right?! Tor is free, easily accessible, and anonymising. Silk Road exists on Tor as a 'hidden service', not a restricted one. Simply put, Tor allows us to buy anonymously on an open market without an invite-only system being in place. Law Enforcement Agencies already have Silk Road on their respective radars. Making it invite-only would change nothing. As it currently stands, only people who really want to join, do join! What makes an invite-only community better than one where any one can join? I would argue the opposite; an open community has so much more to offer than a restricted, gated community. However, even ignoring that argument completely, you're completely missing the point of what Silk Road is actually about. It's not just about buying drugs. To you, perhaps that's all it is and that's completely understandable - I'm sure it's the same for a lot of people - but the spirit of the community and the spirit in which Silk Road came into being is about so much more than that.- grahamgreene
