What's the options on SR as far as buying a pill presser? Are there any alternatives to pill pressers such as a mold or a home made type of remedy to pressing and shaping powder into a pill? any help would be appreciated

you cannot make quality pills without the huge amount of pressure that is exerted from a press, some sort of mold would not work

There are a couple hand-type presses out there, but as said, for it to be a quality pill, it needs a lot of pressure for it to hold its shape while being handled.
An example of what you'd be looking at is something like "Maximum Pressure: 1.5 KN (338lbs)" for a bench top, single punch press.
Here is just one of the hand held presses available, but it won't do anywhere near as good as a proper press. You're better off using capsules to hold the substance, they are quick and easy once you get the hang of it, and will be a lot cheaper.

I'm happy to be corrected though, it would be good to find a nice hand-based, or (relatively) simple to make press that works!

Handheld pill press is just useless you can't press strong pills and it's very slow, however it's not hard to craft one yourself but like i said they won't be strong and it's just a little fun thing to press your own (rather large) pills.
There are people who take the mould and hit the stamp with a hammer but once again useless. Importing a pill press isn't hard but it would cost the vendor time and his own stack of money, one scam and he's down.

You could fill gelatin capsules, it's a bit more difficult to get the weight exactly right but you can get a 400 hole manual machine for $150-$300 from china, much cheaper than a pill press. The cost of the capsules themselves is trivial.
