Title: Minimum number of successful buys before a user can leave feedback
Post by: envious on March 03, 2012, 12:41 pm
I have had no issues with my feedback, but I just thought of this idea. Say a user needs to have 5 successful transactions before they are allowed to start leaving feedback on vendors pages... This would cut down on feedback fraud. LE and trolls would be unable to smear vendors with fake feedback. It would also prevent scammers from inflating their feedback with a bunch of dummy accounts. Can't believe this hasn't been thought of before. AMIRITE OR AMIRITE?

...although you mean well, this would further assist those vendors who take the advantage of 1st time buyers which def does happen..
w/o them being able to leave any sort of feedback also further perpetuates this practise nor is it democratic.
scammers on both sides need to be exposed.

who takes advantage of first time buyers? do you mean by requiring early finalization from them? honestly if you have ever been a vendor and you see how many of them never log back in to finalize i don't really blame anyone for requiring that.

This sounds like a good idea, but it would penalise vendors that have a high number of newbie customers. Being a new vendor if this idea was implemented most of my feedback to now would disappear.

Sounds like a good way of stopping the fake reviews made by a vendor's competition but it kind of discriminates against newbie buyers at same time. They already find it tough having to work out how everthing works and what they are meant to do, on top of always having to finalize early coz they are untrusted.  I was very wary of being ripped off. When you know the site and how things work then finalizing early for good vendors is ok but new buyers are still testing if it is safe to do so. It might make them even less willing to trust the system if they cant even leave any feedback. They could be ripped off 5 times before even being able to complain about it. They wont get ripped off 5 times if they use the right vendors but when your new you dont know that yet.

It was a good idea tho, thinking out of the box. Have you got anymore ideas?
