I just wanted to let everyone know about something very strange that happened earlier.
At the SR logon screen, the random code generator "randomly" spit out the name of the router I connect to. I don't really see how this is possible but it did happen.
My router name is 8 digits which included a 5 letters followed by a 3 digit number. By my calculation the chances of this happening randomly are 1 in 2,821,109,907,456. I'm sorry, but that is just a little to much for me to believe it was random.
Sorry guys, but I'm out. Given the nature of SR, the chance of something being fishy with this is too much for me. I just thought I'd let everyone know before disappearing and deleting Tor.

That's what I said.

Okay okay, now i'm a tad worried...

Something tells me your router name is not that unique.
-
Also, just FYI, I originally posted this in the Security section with the title, "Site compromised? Please read." When I reloaded, it was there. When I reloaded again, it had been removed. At that point I reposted it here with the current title. That's why the title of this thread is, "Lets try this again."
Not sure what to make of all of it.

I don't see why any attacker would make the captcha be the name of your router. What would they gain by doing that? Sounds like paranoia.
-
I saw my name in my alphabits cereal this morning, and there has been a cloud following me all day!!
-
I just tried to post a reply just now and had been kicked. Something isn't right here.
As far as my router being unique, yeah.. it's unique. I never leave things as "Linksys" or whatever. Anyway, a random code gen spitting out "Linksys" is just as scary.

Meh.. no, not paranoid. Haven't even ordered anything from SR yet. Just sharing my experience. I agree, there is nothing to gain. Maybe it's nothing, who knows. It's just a very scary coincidences, except I don't really believe in coincidences like that. Maybe it's fucking ghosts or something. Maybe they also deleted my first post on this topic. Bad ghosts!

Is your router called as8s73 or something like apple123?
Though to be honest I swear the pool of words in the 'captcha' system are pre-chosen to freak people out :p

too much weed, man
-
The second one.. a word followed by a number. Not only did it get the word right, but also the 3 digit number I chose to follow it.
I wasn't aware there was a word pool. I guess that would make the odds less than 1 in 2 trillion, but still very unlikely.

Yeah the SR captcha is formatted like a license plate lol.
First few characters are letters--or random words to be precise--and the 2nd set are numbers.
