There are ways to make traffic light triggers -- the kinds that ambulances, police cars, and firetrucks use. You would turn it on as you approach the intersection (if you wanted to trigger the light). The range is about 200-300 meters from the light before it would trigger.
Is there a demand for this? The cost would be $150, give or take.

sound dangerous.
-
That sounds awesome. Can you be caught using one of these on lights with cameras and what not?
-
Yeah that sounds like a horrible idea. You aren't supposed to sell things on the Silk Road with intent to harm other people. You're going to give us a bad (or worse) reputation.

I would never be late to work again!
-
That's pretty awesome. What's it called?
-
It's called a MIRT.

pretty much a felony anywhere if you get caught using it.
-
Does this change the other corresponding lights to red also? Or just yours to green? Sounds dangerous!
-
It's not dangerous and doesn't cause harm; the police and other emergency vehicles wouldn't be using technology that causes harm. All it does is cuts the other green lights shorter than they would have been before, and then turns yours green once the others have turned red. I've wondered on many occasions how I could make one of those, but never really went through the motions because I presumed it would be very illegal.

The ihacked link above shows how to make it, but obviously it is very easy to get caught using one. Cameras seem to be everywhere nowadays.

Would it really be that easy to be caught, though? I'd think it would be relatively trivial to hide it within your car...
-
Only one way to find out. Cameras will see your plates and will see the MIRT in action. Whether or not someone else sees is another thing.
-
Ah, I guess it wouldn't take too long for them to correlate it...
-
I'll post pictures when I finish the enclosure. Stay tuned.....

LOL there's this light right before my work entrance that when you are stuck in the moments from yellow -> Red, you have to wait almost 4 fucking minutes counting for it to be you'd turn again!
Seems neat. Although the cameras everywhere, being caught using one is relatively easy.
