For the last hour at least, I just keep timing out when trying to get to the main SR site. I've used different Tor identities and restarted Tor software a few times. No luck. Forums are up and responsive however.

yep. and like always when I'm waiting for the coins.. :/
[seems to be good now]
-
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Refreshing identity worked a couple times, but mostly timing out.
-
yup been like this for me to, havent been able to log on once
-
Coolio, I guess I can stop trying for awhile. I'm sure it'll be back up before too long.

-
good to read others are having issues. Go figure it happens as soon as I'm submitting an order.
-
Seems to be back up. I'm in.

Def something is wrong. Often times I'll have to try and connect as many as 4 times before the login screen loads, but it almost always eventually gets to the login screen. I've been trying to bring up the login page for about 2 hours every time it times out with 'The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.'
So perhaps it's down for maintenance ... hopefully it's not a DoS attack or anything like that. Could be that apache has too many threads running and got hung. service restart should clear that up... If it's a LAMP box at all.
-
for me it taking like 5 or 6 time trying to connect just to load one page so taking a very long time to get stuff done here.
-
Yea it's bugging out for me too
-
Got on for a little bit but now I am locked out again. Hopefully it is up again soon.
-
timing out for the like 160 time already
I wanna log in >:( Have work to do!
-
Finally,
Seems to be over? but no work for me since im nor the only one experiencing problems i guess ;D
-
Having problems here too. Tried to use a new identity, disconnected/reconnected, tried a different network, rebooted. All to no avail. It will be back up soon enough. Guess I'll try the "Real Life" thing for a while.

Can a mod please delete this joker?

WARNING! He is stealing logins, the "Silk.road" posting about new server. Please EDIT POST AND BLOCK USER. A$$ holes like that upset me. This is a good site.
-
aaah this is so aggrevating, i saw i had a new message but it went down just before i had time to read it :@@@ so darn curious
btw, this is on the website "silkroadmarket.org" :
"So the server went down unexpectedly today. This was very unnerving because we thought it had somehow been seized or something terrible like that. Fortunately it was just some kind of glitch and we were able to reboot. Everything has been backed up and is totally current, but we are not going to turn the site back on for a couple of days while we work out a way to prevent such problems. We are terribly sorry for this inconvenience, but we want to provide the best service possible, and random outages just aren't going to cut it. We know it must be terribly frustrating, but we are taking the better-safe-than-sorry approach and we hope you understand. "
anyone knows if this is a legit site with connections to actual silk road? "a couple of days" :'C
-
Sorry about that!
Took out phishing url
Our main server box went down unexpectedly, so we had to change the address.
Should be up soon.
Silk
Hahaha if you fall for this message and go to that URL and punch in your login, you deserve whatever the fuck this scammer / LE / crackhead is going to do with your info.
Actually, why don't you just skip giving this aids infected developmentally disabled nigerian scammer your login and just send me your btc.
At least you'll get a thank you note from me.

I am sure that SilkRoad or an admin will let us now whats up as soon as they know.

Constant timeouts are a SR norm I have come to expect. 2-3 retries usually gets me going again, but some days the magic doesn't work at all, and I just have to come back later. It's a small downside to an otherwise amazing adventure.
-
Something seems 'glitchier' than normal. I can get on to main site, after a try or two...but that's when problems begin...I'll get to forums I'm interested in, then it starts acting up, times out. Trying different machines, with different setups, from Tails to plain old windows/tor ... I thought for a while, my IP was trying to block tor traffic, way it was acting...in Tails, I can't update, so I can't load keepassx ... among other things...
When I get into main site, if I try to go anywhere, about 50 percent of the time I'm stopped. I have urls saved, too, so it's not phishing, that's for sure, just something wrong. What I can't tell yet, is whether other tor sites are giving me grief too, or it's just slow biz as usual. Forget ordering anything....every refresh seems to lead to 'starting over...'
A drag, no matter how I slice it up...
-
totally and completely down for me.

I have also not been able to connect all day today, the scary thing was this morning i was able to get to the login page but it kept saying invalid username/password. i tried like 4-5 times now page cannot be displayed.
-
Sometimes it works for me to open multiple pages of silk road and then it will start to load.
-
It was up for a while, as soon as I hit add to cart it went down.. Go figure.. maybe tomorrow.

Yeah, that's the kind of stuff I was having problems with...I could get to one page or another, but then it would always get to 'not connnecting', or 'problems loading page' or some other curse. What I couldn't do was navigate around or get anything done. Bummer.
-
Same thing on my end since yesterday...
It has only loaded once since that time.
Once I got on that time though it worked fine, but I haven't been able to get back in since.
-
It's obviously just silk road because all other hidden services work. Should probably try changing their entry guards and see if it makes a difference.
-
this is horse shit!!!!!
-
I'm having the same problem. It started yesterday and has been timing out a lot more than usual sometimes it'll take 10+ reloads to get there. It might have something to do with the new servers SR switched to after the outage or it could be that as SR's popularity grows there server is being overwhelmed. I'm almost positive that the good people at SR are working hard to fix the issues seeing as they are making an absolute killing getting 6.25% of all business transacted on the site (as they should for providing the best website in the world) Just have to be patient I guess will be interesting looking back at this time a few years from now when SR is bigger than Amazon. :)
-
Any news from Silk Road on this matter? I would like to hear from them so I can exhale...
-
Well, that's pretty strange: get in fine on regular tor, windows, but for the life of me, I can't get TAILS to work...I'm not so concerned about using tails on forums, but on main site, I'd rather use tails or liberte....but tails I keep getting 504 connect to ianxz6zefk72ulzz.onion:80 failed:SOCKS error: TTL expired.
-
Seems there are windows of a few hours when I can connect to SR main, followed by whole days or multiple days that I can't. It's getting worse all the time, to the point it is too risky to keep money in an account I may never be able to login to again. I love SR, it is a unique resource that I do NOT want to lose, but I can't reliably do business here any more. :(
-
Bitcoin jingling in pocket, but nothing to buy, just - 'Try again'. :(
-
Seems I can access it via tor2web, thru Aurora itself but not when I just use my Tor client...anyone else? This problem seems to be getting worse for me too.
-
I also have same problems, this forum (and other .onion pages) working fine through tor browser bundle, but SR loads only about 5% of all cases i trying, but through tor2web it works. What the problem?
-
I do believe it's time for a reply from Silk Road Staff on this - I've been experiencing this for the last four to five days. - Maybe not give an answer to why it's happening (for privacy concerns) but maybe give us a reply so we can feel at ease. I love SR and have been sad because I wanted to make it my main selling point. I did wonderful last week and now this week almost no sales again. Very depressing for me. SR is the frontier so I can't complain though.
-
Got the same problem here :( can't acces the inlog page.
-
...yes me too..from say 03h25 gmt
error msg as at 03h40 gmt :-
"The requested URL /index.php/account was not found on this server."
-
Getting 404 not found messages kinda scary but it is so new it's going to be buggy and crazy as sh*t and as new people join in droves they stress out the system. Still concerning when you have BTC in your account.

...er...ok
???

Been timing out for me 9 times out of 10 for the past three days. Been better tonight, hope it stays that way. I'm using the latest Tor bundle on Mac OS X.
-
..try switching new identity on the fly when you cannot connect...
-
SR up to its old tricks again this evening....don't even get a logon page..
-
...after a few refreshes was able to logon,.
-
How do you "refresh ?"
-
How do you "refresh ?"
The F5 key, usually.
-
Thanks but that doesn't work either.

Ask Tor to expire previously used circuits -- via the New Identity function, if using Vidalia -- and try refreshing a few more times. If that doesn't work: halt and close your Tor client, reopen and restart your Tor client, then try refreshing again. If that *still* doesn't work, you may simply need to wait a while before trying again.
-
SR & forum....nice 'n quick this morning....even got an SR logon window....maybe someone rebooted their Pentium 3 tor server....
-
I've been having this problem for about a week, I've been able to access SR by simply refreshing, or restarting vidalia until I was sucessful. But for the past 2 or 3 days, I've not been able to get onto SR at all, I've tried refreshing, choosing a new identity, restarting vidalia, restarting my computer, etc. I've been getting a page that says: "504 Connect to ianxz6zefk72ulzz.onion:80 failed: SOCKS error: host unreachable". It's getting really fustrating because I've been waiting for an order to arrive and it seems to be late - I need to make contact with the member who's suppose to be sending it to me (I've already paid) and I was hoping to make a couple more orders during this week - but it's looking grim. Any suggestions as to how to fix this?
-
How do you "refresh ?"
yip, ...F5 or refresh icon or <Enter> on url address bar....they all do similar things....
-
...I've been getting a page that says: "504 Connect to ianxz6zefk72ulzz.onion:80 failed: SOCKS error: host unreachable"....
The new SR URL [ silkroadvb5piz3r.onion ] seems to be working well so far. See the Forum announcement [ dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=6235.0 ] for more information.

I've been trying to get on SR all day!!! .....>>>>>> :(
-
...ok....hours later....but the time i noticed this post..
-
Following the change of URL, things worked pretty well for about a week. Now I can't connect at all, been trying all day. Luckily I was able to spend nearly all my bitcoin and finalize my last transactions before SR went away again, so if it's gone, it's gone. :(
-
I haven't been able to connect all day. Any idea what's going on?
-
I haven't been able to log onto SR's main site at all yet. I've given it a while to see if it was just the site, but every time I enter my info it tells me "Log in failed, please try again." The forums work fine, and I'm using SR's new url (confirmed by several users on this forum). I had cookies completely unblocked, with I reluctantly tried just to see if it would work, and it did nothing. The log-in information is shared between the forums and the main site, right? The first time I tried was two nights ago, so it was well after all the other problems people were having after the site change and what not, so I don't think it's that. If anyone could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. I feel I could really get into SR, as I love talking to and helping people on the 420chan forums, but I'm not going to bother sticking around if I can't even get to the most important parts. The site is an awesome concept and I fell in love shortly after uncovering it... and I guess I'm rambling now. Sorry :P

Not unless you've manually set the same username and password on both sites.
