Is it a bad idea?
Currently I'm using Windows 7's native encryption feature to encrypt my Tor folder.
What are the cons of doing this?
I know that if the Windows password is reset, access to all encrypted folder and files is lost.
So if the DEA raids my home and takes away my HD, they will never be able to crack the encrypted folder and files, even though they would be able to reset the admin password in windows.
I'd like to read your opinions.
Thanks.

I wouldn't trust it. Every piece of Microsoft software is closed source, thus they could code anything in there and you wouldn't know it.
I really doubt that's the case, but you can never be too sure. I'd just go with a hidden encryption on a tor drive - put some adult porn and some financial bullshit on the visible drive and tor/contacts/phpkeys/etc. on the hidden one.

Thanks.
What encryption program do you recommend?
Something portable, small and fast.

Truecrypt, it's open-source, free, and does all the stuff you need.

+1 for truecrypt. On the fly decryption means not only can you run applications from your encrypted file/partition, you can run an OS or watch a video.
-
Bitlocker is not secure. Use truecrypt.

^^^ You mean bitlocker is Window's native encryption feature?

def truecrypt hidden. Works fast, easy to use.
I would look at running windows 7 usb on a 32GB thumb drive with your truecrypt file running all of your secret apps/docs. It works just like your home computer, but can use it on any computer.
